Official NT dad thread: can the dads get love

My daughter has been off the hook in the middle of the night. She'll wake up and start crying out of nowhere. We try to comfort her by giving her some water, but as soon as she finishes drinking she's crying. Since she has four teeth coming in, I tried massaging her cheeks and jaw and that calmed her and she fell asleep. Last night, I massaged her legs and she knocked out.

Between the two nights, I've been kicked in my junk numerous times and have lost my patience because of how much lack of sleep I've had.

Has anyone dealt with something similar while their kid's teeth is coming out?

I'm glad her fever is gone, but she's still dealing with congestion. She plays and eats just fine, it's just that she's really clingly and she has these night cries.
Like they said, just hang in there. Them teethin' pampers the wurst

My girl is 38 weeks, she can pop any day

What's with this "push present" thing I'm hearing :lol

Never heard about it either until my wife told me about it during her first pregnancy so I bought her an LV purse. Ended up just buying her a charm with the twins initials for the second pregnancy, and I double dipped by getting our first daughters initials for it for Xmas, since that was two weeks later.

I agree it's a sham but it is what it is, so whatever :lol

Like everyone else stated, cold teething toys work. We also bought a wash rag and wet it and froze it. The roughness of the rag mixed with the cold seemed to do the trick. I just placed it in a sandwich bag when in the freezer. Also don't forget about Oral gel. They have nighttime versions also. Right now my daughters' molars are coming in so the oral gel is clutch.

I agree with the Ora Gel.  We used that on my son  every night while he was teething and it seemed to help a ton.  Teething really bothered him and he slept terrible, but my daughter never even seemed bothered by it.

Yeah i know exactly how you feel. Before bedtime we would feed him if he was willing to eat, then him splash in the tub for about an hour or so. Grab a towel from the dryer and give him a quick baby massage and it was lights out. If it got real bad we would give him a lil Tylenol smh.

Lol man yall suckas

Push present? Bahahahahahah

My interpretation of the push gift is...

My 2nd child would give a gift to my 1st child. (Of course I bought it)

So when my daughter was born, my mother in law brought my son to the hospital and we introduce them to each other with my daughter giving a Kylo ren stuffed toy to him.

Here is a photo of my son saying thank you to his sister and trying to play with her already.

I'll make a note that you don't approve and mention it to my wife on the next one.

But like I said, it is what it is. Life is good over here, and my wife and kids get whatever they want :D

been meaning to catch up on this thread for awhile...

took me to the first unread post and very shortly after that ppl were dropping knowledge on getting a vasectomy, may be going down that path in the not too distant future

good to see all the kid pics and addition of new NT fathers in my reading/scanning

my wife got some ovulation and pregnancy test strips and the plan was to use the ovulation strips as a form of "contraceptive" as opposed to the PO method

first time using it, everything looked all good to proceed with rain in Miami...wife did a strip the following morning and it didn't yield the same results it did the previous night :x

the wife decided it would be best to get the morning after pill and went to Target around opening of business...she then decided it would be best to get back on "the pill" just to be safe and ordered a prescription

she got some pregnancy tests a few days ago just to be sure and sent me a text on the way home saying she's pregnant and sent a pic of the result, 2nd line was very faint so I wasn't fully believing it at that point...next day I saw a test she did w/ a digital one and the result read "YES" 8o

she had been saying she wanted a third but not attempting until sometime next year at the absolute earliest...i honestly wasn't fully on board w/ having a third

the pros are that odds are supposedly higher to have a boy (we have two girls) based on when it happened when she was ovulating, i like the idea of our kids being relatively close in age to grow and bond more, and my oldest (turns 4 in two weeks) sometimes says she wants a baby (brother)

the cons, kind of don't feel ready for this and neither is my wife who's extra stressed right now...my younger one is still teething, just recently finished dealing with recurring ear infections and got tubes and her adenoids removed, the financial aspect of things, and also the adjustments that come along w/ a third...are the vehicles big enough? is our house big enough? what's it going to be like going out to places and doing things like vacations?

open to ppls experiences with growing from a family of four to a family of five

this is my second time I can tote like Ronnie from the Jersey Shore...

Depending on the ride situation, three car seats is no bueno in the back seat. As far as everything else, it will work itself out. Your house will become smaller as they grow older, but you either make do or move up. It is an adjustment, but it is an adjustment you will not even realize you are making, and in the long run, you won't even remember how tough it seemed like it was going to be. Until they become teenagers. But by then it's too late.

We have a CRV and a Civic

May work until they get a certain age/size

My wife had three kids in the back a couple of months ago when she was watching my nieces daughter but it was a tight fit

Suggestions on something larger to upgrade to?

Cliff's

- BM's is pregnant with our 2nd, we're 18 weeks in, baby due November 5th

- Our first is 2 years old (28 months) Tantrum Queen, spoiled to the core and smart as can be

- We did the home birth, baby pool thing with a midwife and doula, I caught my daughter in the bedroom on the bed, then she pooped on me

- We're doing it again with baby #2

- I have no plans of marrying my BM....

- None.

- Trying to make my escape as it's a toxic relationship and has been since before the first one

- I beat my self up a lot about it, not her.

Anywho, this is my first born. I love her to bits, but God is she spoiled.

I need to trace back through the thread, but anyone doing the co-parenting thing?

We went from a Civic to an Odyssey when we had the third.

One of the best purchases I've ever made. [emoji]127997[/emoji]‍♂️[emoji]127997[/emoji]‍♂️

Van is the way to go.

When we had our first. We went from a Jetta to a explorer (with 3rd row seating which we never used)

Then when our second was coming, we traded in the explorer for a new Toyota Sienna.

Best power move you can make when you want convenience.

I suggest you test drive a van to see what it's all about. People think low of vans til the own one.
