First thing that comes to mind is to paint a hypothetical scenario of a president who otherwise does his job but constantly publicly and explicitly engages in extremely racist and anti-semetic speech. Camp A: The ones that mainly focusing on arguing that the Dems desperately need to pass HR.1 or the John Lewis Voting Rights act and make DC and PR a state because voices of minorities will be suppressed. Like Ezra Klein, Eric Levitz.

Is that how it went down? I thought there were just a few german scientists and they fled german when hitler came to power.

Some of were working for the Nazis. The US and the UK tried to extract most of them out for their own benefits. They sold it as trying to save Jewish lives, which it of course was to a degree, but there were selfish reasons and that was for the development of the Manhattan project and such.
