Yeah it's definitely an American problem
Texas isn't the only state that F's up when there's extreme weather
But what do you expect to happen when your Trump's best friend wannabe asss governor is tweeting this type of 💩 Sunday, knowing there's a major storm already impacting millions in his state and will impact millions more in less than 12hrs

Abbott is gonna make a run (sorry, too easy) for president. He’s scarier than Trump because Trump believes his own BS, Abbott panders to any conspiracy out there. Total *****.

Mr. Trump’s extra defensive, cultural model of nationalism — and infrequently racist feedback — had been once thought to be a deal-breaker for minority voters. Nevertheless, these messages can resonate with minorities. As well as, in line with my evaluation, Hispanics who’re American-born and native English audio system usually tend to consider others see them as white. Hispanics and Asians who say their American id is “extraordinarily essential” to them additionally really feel hotter towards white People.

That link is... interesting. It’s like they translated the story back And forth. From now on I’m gonna claim my native English sound system since I have a Rega turntable.

Linking the NYT version below because it’s a good article and the original has easier to follow citations.

In addition, according to my analysis, Hispanics who are American-born and native English speakers are more likely to believe others see them as white. When you think that only Ivy League schools can leave a working class kid in +50k debt, you need to reassess the numbers and your position on the issue.

Edit: the US federal government doesn’t have to choose between student debt relief on the one hand and expanding early childhood education and making community college tuition free etc on the other. Print the money, the resources exist to do all of the above without any inflationary pressure and in the unlikely event of inflationary pressure, tax large concentrations of wealth, create new tax brackets for $500k and another for a million plus.

If you want to ask more of truly privilege people and expand education and reduce cost at all levels, you can do it and still provide a middle income, millennial state school grads debt relief so they can maybe start a family and have a chance at a decent dignified retirement.

One more thing, if we are going to MRA s test tuition free public college, then by all means, test the student’s wealth and income. If you’re 18 years old and are so wealthy that you’re getting 125k plus in passive income, sure, you pay some tuition. But most 18 year olds do not make anywhere close to 125k. Basing it on parental income reduces access to education especially for LGBTQ young people and kids with abusive and controlling parents.

^ I don’t think he meant you can *only* incur that much debt from an Ivy League school. He just used it as an example b/c it sounds kinda wild to the average person that someone from those schools would need help (we’ve been conditioned to think everyone comes out of there rich as hell).

But yeah, he indeed does need to rethink things. 10k is cool and all but that’s a drop in the bucket for most.

Biden's position is that...

-He feels he can cancel up to 10K by EO
-Anything higher he wants Congress to pass it. Which they can do it through reconciliation, it just that it will cost like a trillion dollars
-Everyone gets free community college
-Every family making 125K below gets free tuition at public school for a full 4-year degree

Biden is not where I want him to be on student debt. But I am not gonna act like he is some enemy to people with student debt.
