I wondered the same thing but had no desire to put effort into finding out. Definitely found it suspect that the "alien to Europe" statement was in quotation marks whereas the part about Africa was not.

Alien to Europe is obviously wrong but it doesnt imply that its home to African nations, nor is it as evil.
