Dems should really make this a campaign issue.
OkI don’t thing that will swing the election but it’s more ammo for the dems over regulate everything argument.
Excellent question and a difficult answer. I think direct government funding to cities and states for the purpose of building affordable housing could help. Not sure how that impacts inflation if it’s direct government dollars to state and local government then that might work. I also note that scumbag cities and states will not use the money for the intended purpose for political points.Just asking, what kind of ideas would the democrats put forth to lower housing/rent costs, that wouldn’t just be countered by “the inflation under Biden has caused everything to be unaffordable!”?
I realize there are things they could do, however I feel like the people who might be swayed would one way or another just would think back to precovid times… “Trump was in office then when things were better… he must have done something right!”

Thank god Trump wasn’t in office. He would have done this weeks earlier
Look at this idiot:
Sure Biden kills
Imagine with Trump would do.
Announcing the policy change, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, said that “calling the establishment of civilian settlements inconsistent with international law hasn’t worked. It hasn’t advanced the cause of peace”.
Mr. Pompeo’s comments –which were reportedly condemned by Palestinian politicians, and the Jordanian Government, and welcomed by Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu – have been interpreted in press reports as a rejection of UN Security Council resolution 2334.
This resolution reaffirmed, in 2016, that Israel’s establishment of settlements on Palestinian land occupied since 1967, have “no legal validity”, and constitute a “flagrant violation under international law and a major obstacle to the vision of two States living side-by-side in peace and security, within internationally recognized borders”. The resolution was adopted with 14 votes in favour, with the US abstaining.
As if to boast, in a call to mark the Jewish New Year, President Trump told American Jewish leaders: “I stopped massive amounts of money that we were paying to the Palestinians.” Trump added he told the Palestinians, “We’re not paying until you make a deal.” On the face of it, such an approach may seem like a typical Trump negotiating tactic, but the decision is so misguided that in addition to having dire immediate consequences, it will haunt the United States for years to come.
