Also, always ask if there is a generic version of any medication you need. Idk if the same applies to the US but a lot of people here aren't very aware of generic versions of medications and how much cheaper they are. My general physician always prescribes generics if possible but many doctors don't.
I pay €5 for a box of 60x200mg generic Tramadol for example, a medium strength opiate painkiller. A branded version is easily above €15
