General Robert E Lee was a champion of jobs and economic prosperity for ALL. Probably should have sat this out. Though Lee really didnt want monuments to his L and there weren't any after the civil war. Fringe groups advocated for them later on to send a message to blacks. It's really not history like they think. It actually is hate, not heritage. As for the GW etc argument, yes he was a slave owner but monuments weren't built as a means of psychological control, plus it was the winning side.

From a historical context, Robert E Lee was a traitor to the Union, and George Washington was a founding father who only pledged allegiance to the country, not political parties.
