I'm not really sure how much I can say, but I work for a Fortune 500 company and jobs aren't magically being created under Trump. If anything, I just keep hearing about layoffs. Every company nowadays is trying to figure out how they can make you work more for less money.

Well of course they are. I’ve pointed out countless times that companies will only hire and expand when there is either opportunity for some sort of new market or product or if it’s a means to survive because some competitor is coming to take their market share.

Gutting jobs is the easiest way to cut fixed costs. So when earning projections suck for next year just announce job cuts for next year and boom EPS is higher.

It’s really sick but that is the society we live in. Let’s not even get to the whole automation and softwares that can do multiple things that were split amoungst multiple employees. Problem is productivity per employee really has hit its peak at this point. So just forcing people to do more is one way to go about it.

The NYTimes had a good article today from the CEO of Blackrock where he said some things that need to be considered as an investor. That they can’t just look at bottom lines because there are many more moving pieces that are relevant. Working conditions, potential exploitation of populations, minerals and the likes. It’s sort of the whole idea of stakeholder rather than just looking at stockholders. But it’s easy to say. Too many greedy people up top with money and the ones in charge typically just care about their own well being. Which I can’t blame them, you need to be selfish for yourself to a degree. But what many people do is just straight exploitation. When I saw some of officers comps for 2016 and 2017 for some of these banks because their stock options were in money. Man :{
