Listen to Andrew Yang on Joe Rogan's podcast to get his idea of UBI.

Cliffs:
* Truck driver is the most common occupation in the USA
- Truck driving will be automated in the next 5-15 years, leaving 3.5 million people without a job nor the skills to transition to another job
- Such an increase in unemployment is bad for the economy
- So many people suddenly losing their job = potential for chaos (see industrial revolution)
- He wants to give everyone (no matter how much they already earn) $1000 per month
- No $1000 isn't enough to sit around all day and do nothing, but it can account for some necessities and is better than $0

I'm too stupid to know if this will ever work, but it's an interesting idea

I’ll buy homie an extra little Debbie. Good ****.

What’s funny about this is that trump supporters go around dress like this looking for this exact reaction. This dude wanted to be inflammatory.
Oh but you won’t hear that side of the story. The hell do you need a trump poster on you during that time anyway? Talk about starved for attention. Parents must be complete trash

poor people too. saw a young relative of mine that prob makes 10$/hr if hes lucky post on IG this morning that "the socialist AOC is going to tax 100% of everyones pay".
This **** is crazy, and I definitely know people like this. They stand to gain the most but they continue fighting for corporate interests.

She just as dumb as her dad and her simple brothers

I mean what does that even mean? People just throwing words together trying to see if something sticks.

What about “da tax reform”? so much for that and nobody seems to want to come to that reality

I just thought it was funny/ironic to see a second generation 'been handed everything' comment about people wanting to work for what they have.

It is a common theme i have noticed among people i have known who have grown up with golden spoons, they think they actually worked for what they have as adults. Daddy handing over a business had nothing to do with it.

Ain’t happening. Trucks aren’t going anywhere. I don’t know why people are so scared of that.

We don’t even have reliable self driving cars.

i wonder how the people who worked for their family and got shafted feel about that stupidity coming out of her mouth?

aint they also fighting paying back pay to some worked during the shut down?

Operators will definitely be required to be in the trucks, much like pilots with airplanes, no matter how automated semi trucks get. The biggest changes will be the level of training needed by truckers (which will increase) and cost of shipping (which will decrease). Truckers will be more specialized, there will be some jobs lost due to this, but I'd imagine the technical training and current shortage will lead to higher wages in then long run.

UBI will be a good initiative but basing it on long haul trucking isnt the right point to make. I'd point to manual labor and manufacturing, which both are already well on their way to full automation.

What evidence do you have of that?

You know how ******* crazy it is we even have phones? You know we actually have self-driving vehicles on the road and it's only a decade old technology? Even if it doesn't completely phase out all drivers which it won't, it's completely naive to think it won't leave a huge impact.

Just a few decades ago being able to video call someone from the other side of the world in real time was crazy.

Sled driving isn’t happening for a while in commercial use because the road system aren’t made for it. People are going to die as soon as you hit a constitution area and need to merge and such. Too much that can’t be accounted for.

Automation needs to go towards Something that won’t kill someone with a failed test haha. OR build road systems just for them...... like the system in California trump stopped becuase he was mad lol

Fellas, we've had some AMAZING posts in here. I don't know about you guys but my favorite post was when blastercombo blastercombo make his triumphant return and let da yappa sing.

Automation will continue to happen as companies push to eliminate labor.

Major players are pouring **** tons of money into artificial intelligence.

It's not a matter of if. It's a matter of when.
