Do you know what a banana republic, and where the term comes from?

Do you know what happened in Iran, when Mossadegh tried to nationalize the extraction of oil?

Do you know who sets the prices of export crops produced by those small countries? (Wall St)

Did you know that through aid, world powers dictate the internal policies of smaller countries?

There are a lot of ways in which the current policies of developed countries have a negative impact on the development of poor countries.

Look into the mechanisms of foreign aid and how it flows back into developed countries' coffers while the people of the countries being "helped" end up in perpetual debt.
