This is funny but it does shed light on a serious issue. Under neoliberalism, Government bureaucracies are ordered to drag their feet and assume that everyone applying for low and no income benefits is doing so fraudulently unless and until they e proven otherwise.

Whether it’s lawfully eligible people applying for Medicaid, SNAP, Disability or unemployment benefits in their respective States or low income people submitting tax forms to the IRS in order to get EITC, the operating assumption, on the part of the organization processing the claim, is fraud.

It’s as if every State and Federal bureaucracy, which deals with low income people, has internalized Reagan’s 1976 welfare queen so each.
