Agreed along with the party also working to create conditions where those voters don't feel disenfranchised enough to even be inclined to flip against their self interest out of spite.
45 support among Hispanic and Black women grew too. Like any good relationship, you've gotta start nurturing the base and those already inclined to vote Dem anyway instead of occassionally taking them for granted and forgetting to reach out because you automatically assume they'll go your way regardless of what you do.
They made a few mistakes on that front. Might sound corny but you gotta continue to make your partner feel special and important to continue winning their heart
That's the main thing the GOP is consistent with is how much they fear and attempt to appease their base with everything they do. That's why their foundation is always rock solid and unwavering. Dems need to do a better job of that IMO. That should be a key part of electoral strategy every time and shouldn't just take a generational political talent like Obama to understand that.

fwiw my silver lining is this may force Americans to reevaluate their lazy, ethnocentric/xenophobic views of the rest of the world. This includes both Republicans and Democrats. We don't lump Italians with Brits, but somehow Cubans and Mexicans and Brazilians are all the same, or Koreans and Chinese, or Syrians and Saudis (let alone the diverse groups within these countries). This is the slightly more nuanced form of labeling everybody in the world as black or white.

people make fun of complaints about "Latinx" terminology but to me it's a worrying sign of out of touch-ness. using a term that is unpronounceable to in the Spanish to appeal to Spanish speakers seems dumb.
my girlfriend speaks Spanish, and her whole childhood crew are Chilean. I asked them about "Latinx" and most
A. hadn't heard of it,
B. found it bizarre
and one of them; a college educated HR person had heard of it but still prefers Latino/latina
and with black men you have this natural "we've been voting 90% democrat for 40 years and things haven't changed that much", so you got some natural low- socital trust black men that can be picked off if Republicans made an actaul attempt at it.
people were mad at me but I said it over and over, these clumsy, platinum plan, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Ice Cube, HBCU president media op's look dumb, but most republicans don't even try to get black people.
clumsy or not Trump tries and he's *seeems* to be reaping some benefits.

they’re gist of the legal argument is that the constitution says a state legislature gets to decide state election law. PA state legislature said ballots need to be received by Election Day. PA state court ruled that ballots could be received up to 3 days later because of the usps delays.
the legal challenge is essentially that the state court’s ruling is a violation of the constitution. Kavanaugh’s recent concurrence in a case is the framework for the challenge.
