I’m half Nicaraguan and I got family in Miami.

Some Nicaraguan and other Central Americans/Cubans roll republican due to being conservativ because of so much war within their home countries. They also are not fans of socializing ****. At least from what I’m hearing.

the kneeling, Kaepernick, Latinx and other "woke" phraseology, I don't think it juices turnout that much and it alienates you from working class culturally conservative voters.

no one seems to understand that part of Obama's success was telegraphing a certain type of black dad " pull up your pants " cultural conservatism, democrats need to get back to that.


even **** like immigration, stop framing it in terms of "compassion" there is an affirmative case to be made for immigration that has nothing to do with compassion.

You gotta tell people how it helps them materially and you have to deliver.

Public figures, entertainers and athletes will only get you so far.

Favorable policy positons affecting peoples daily material conditions and livelihoods will forever be a more potent and effective way to go over symbolic concessions and gestures that don't mean all that much in the grand scheme of things.

Gotta campaign for your base just as hard as you campaign for others outside your party tent...

You risk eroding parts of that support when you take them for granted and as a given

What’s ironic is it’s life threatening for folks that look like them as well.

How conservatives have convinced poor, rural people they are fighting for them is wild. How is a guy like Tucker Carlson who comes from money or all those Fox News anchors similar to a poor person in the Midwest? Nothing is similar except their white agenda. That’s all it takes.

For the record I grew around such demographics and had the exact same struggle (minus the black experience with cops etc - which makes my blood boil)

We'll have to see the final numbers but black men and Latino men though...we gotta do better. White folks gonna white but as the country is getting more black and brown we can't be voting haphazardly as it appears right now to have been the case in some states.

What they also need is political Flava Flavs.

Republicans will give the wealthy elite millions and Black folks a couple of dollars, but they will let the world know about that dollar so much and so loudly that nobody will ask where the rest of the money went.

Democrats need to stop being shy and apologetic about what they do (or did) for minorities. Put down the numbers and translate them in dollars. When Republicans call that "handouts," unapologetically reply that it's been earned, and they should do it every time they're in a position to broadcast that message.
