***Official Political Discussion Thread***

Dont slander Nicole Bae. We all make mistakes. Some of us wait too long to find a new job. Some of us support DEMONRATS. Some of us pay resell for UNC 3s. Some of us support a fascist for 4 years due to a broken moral and intellectual compass. Point is, dont look at what people did in the past. Be Best Elsa. Let it gooooo.

You do realize this link has nothing to do with the video you posted?

So make a decision, are you gonna add something worthwhile to this thread, or are you just gonna troll.

This was discussed yesterday, in case you want to know the actual context of his words...

Ideally, pardons during the lame-duck period should not be allowed, that way a president can be held accountable by the voters for any corrupt pardons
You’d need a constitutional amendment though.

While I can understand your logic somewhat, the reasoning doesn’t really work well in this situation because Trump can still run again in 2024. So this would be like any other first-term president who made post-election pardons. He can still be held accountable by the voters should he choose to run again.

He got the second most votes for president in history. From what I’ve seen, his base doesn’t seem too bothered by these pardons. And his influence over both the party and his base seems quite strong.

So while I understand the logic generally, I’m not sure it’s applicable as it relates to Trump.

Is he deemed a hero still? At the very least I assume he got a lot of his folks scratching they heads confused rn...

As I always say, he’s entitled to due process. Meaning he’s innocent unless/until he’s proven guilty.

This is the reason I keep the same energy no matter who the allegations are lodged against.

This allegation, alone, is an inadequate reason to shift support from Warnock.
That same energy, huh?

Why is this out of context nonsense getting posted again?

I work with the state legislature in Texas, so I get to see and hear about Abbott every day. He will definitely run in 2024. I've never seen a guy pander to the far-right like this guy. Everything that comes out of his mouth is a cheesy slogan geared towards ruling up his base. He's a the JV version of Bush. The scary thing about him is he's really just a massive dork that is bitter and vindictive, which is a dangerous combination.

Google Abbott and Jade Helm and you will understand.

The public veto threat and calling out of the $600 payment doesn’t qualify as lifting a finger?
Sure, if we want to be pedantic about it he lifted a finger. He has the party by the balls and has strong armed then at will when he wants to get something done and he hasn’t done that. So I understand why he says he hasn’t lifted a finger.

When I used this argument to explain support it was rejected. Now you’re arguing he has a unique ability to get things past an otherwise obstructive GOP?
