I don't recall anyone arguing that he couldn't persuade the GOP to take action when he wanted. I think the counter to your argument was that he was never going to fight for any of the things you claimed he would fight for.

As we can see now, he's putting up quite a fight to invalidate the election results. He hasn't done much to get stimulus checks for struggling people.
