It's going to be interesting to see the law develop on whether the reach of the first amendment should expand to certain social media giants

Why don’t we find out? Methodical Management Methodical Management ban this fake non-lawyer and let him try to take NT to court, with no legal standing. He doesn’t even understand the first amendment. The FIRST one!! Pathetic.

How though? Social media platforms are privately owned. Unless they are receiving some kind of federal funding, no law can stop them from banning any person they feel like. Especially one who continuously ignores their rules. They have about 10+ years of evidence of trump breaking their rules. BTW... I hope they ban his kids also.

Honestly, Twitter is playing with fire and has no moral high ground here.

Case in point, they let this tweet which is literally promoting propaganda of genocide to stay up. If you're going to target/clean up the platform, do it to everything and all the other despots roaming free on that site. If not, you really are targeting Trump and playing right into his narrative.

Not defending Trump, can't stand the guy

I’ve heard this man speak, he’s not smart at all. How in the hell was he able to convince so many he could overturn the election? They kept losing and people kept fighting. I don’t get it.

i mean its been 5 years we aint seen 1 email, how people continually fell for it is legit mind blowing.

the way he was able to do it with no charisma and really zero redeeming qualities is actually scary, low key we got to hope the GOP never finds that guy who can do all those things.

Just in case folks don't know what I'm talking about, I wrote this article on the atrocity that's occurring in China

Twitter and all of zuck apps are trash

1.You ban trump but not all the other right wing everyone who says the same things
2. There was evidence they used it to organize the riot that already took place but did nothing. Guess there’s a 1 riot policy?
3. They didn’t delete any of the fake claims thrown out as they were coming out. Just threw up a “hey I think this might not be true” make on the bottom

maga boys have my permission to take them down

Hmm I do wonder what kind of shenanigans are going to take place on inauguration day

I assume all the forces of god will be in place throughout DC until Biden takes the oath of office.

If they let anything happen, our new president and Congress will make sure heads will roll through all levels of the responsible government agencies.

At least that's what should happen in a functioning democracy.

Are you getting tired of winning yet?

So...it is the Dems blocking the progressive legislation now?

Going to be interesting these next 4 years.
For someone whose entire schtick is baiting people into a morass of semantic hairsplitting, this is exceptionally sloppy.

I remember when you took umbrage to being characterized as a bad faith forum troll. Look at you now.
After ending your "support" for Trump "months ago," here you are arguing, post-insurrection, that he isn't racist unless he admits it and "Democrats" are primarily responsible for blocking progressive legislation.

Try to cobble together some dignity, would you?
Five years too late you cowards

Bring it back:

So many members of legacy media cannot wrap their heads around the fact that the far right is primarily a cadre of well off professionals and prosperous businessmen who are animated by a perceived lose of racial and gender based power.
The conservative "movement" represents a coalition dedicated to the preservation and promotion of an unjust status quo, first and foremost. For a party that is so overtly anti-diversity, this coalition is, in some respects, more diverse than its caricatures would suggest. We shouldn't ignore the outsize influence of the corporate kleptocrats among them, or resort to crude stereotypes that sanitize and sanctify "Whiteness proper" by separating it from the so-called 'White trash." That said, there aren't 74 million bankers and c suite executives in America. There's a reason why Kelly Loeffler spent the past fiscal quarter dressed like a mannequin at Bass Pro Shops, and it wasn't to appeal to hedge fund managers.

From the article I shared yesterday:

Throughout American history, Wade said, White men have been promised a place at the “top of the hierarchy.” They showed up in such large numbers today, she said, because with the defeat of Trump, “that promise is being broken.” The most fervent rioters, she said, were likely the ones with the most to lose: working-class White men who Trump has made feel powerful.

“The men at the very bottom of the hierarchy are the ones who are most likely to defend it,” she said. “They may be at the bottom of the male hierarchy but at least they’re not women. They may be at the bottom of the White hierarchy but at least they’re not Black.”

Let's not deny the obvious: we're dealing with intersectional inequality. There are a LOT of Cleti and ninjahoods in this coalition - not to protect Donald Trump's "wealth," but to protect their share of the privileged status afforded to straight, White, Christian, cisgender men. He was their avatar - often literally.

The power that Trump supporters seek isn't strictly material. We should bear that in mind, especially now, with all its various fractures fissuring before our eyes.

“The Deep State cannot stop us,” he wrote on Parler, a social media network popular with Trump supporters, “They learned that today when we stormed the Capitol and took it. The word is we’re all coming back armed for war.”

This Attorney had a bad case of that economic anxiety ammirite
