I didn't respond bec. It's idiotic to ask a question when you already know the answer. Of course I voted why would I bother being in here if I didn't. And I vote bec. I simply get more money from back taxes. I significantly got paid more this year than when obama was in office . So yes I will vote where it will benefit me. I'd like to see a change in racism but there's nothing I can do about it. Speaking out about it cures nothing. I have this talk about my friends all the time and yes they are people of color. They despised me at first but then respected my logic

I agree, when the left votes for their interests they are heroes but when we do the same we're called racist. Makes no sense. Just because you vote for a party doesn't mean you agree with everything members of that party might stand for.

Thats just pitiful lol to save a few bucks

With literally dozens of alternatives to save money when filing taxes that statement is unbelievably ignorant. Unless youre making millions that statement leads me to believe you have zero clue about what youre talking about.

Well I got close to 9 grand more through state and federal so it's not exactly chump change

It's important to bifucate personal conduct and one's participation in systems. There are many people whose public and institutional conduct is white supremacist in nature who also can be very cordial and cosmopolitan in their personal conduct. Plenty of white supremacists in our history and our present were friendly and even fair in their own interactions with people of color.

In fact, most white supremacists are cordial and polite and even friendly when they interact with people of color in person. So having black friends means nothing as far as your ideology is concerned. The separatists, the people, who want an all white ethno-state and who refuse to interact with black and brown people, are the minority among white supremacists.

What sucks is cutting a check to uncle sam and realizing youre buying ben carson a dinnner table and lotion for pruitt. Maybe thats why these things dont seem to bother you.

Agreed. The PC culture of the socialist left is ruining this country. How am I supposed to display my superiority over other minority groups if not through disparaging or derogatory "jokes?" Smh at this communist nation. The ONLY way to TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK is through voting for the most Merican, most outsider, most WHITE person willing to be our nations savior! I may not agree fully with their borderline-liberal racism and socialist-adjacent policies, but if the alt right can MAKE THIS COUNTRY GREAT AGAIN then I will just have to turn a blind eye towards their totally gross, disgusting, correct views on Merica and the world as a whole. #CANTCOLLUDEIFYOUCANTPROVEIT #LOCKHER UP #BUTTERYMALES #MUSSRGA

Would it be fair to say a policy change such as the Civil Rights Act decreased the impact of systemic racism? If yes, do you believe it is possible that policies, laws and the judiciary can decrease or increase the impact of systemic racism?
Furthermore, do you believe appointing racist individuals to the government and/or the judicial branch are more likely to let their racist views influence their policy goals or judgement in general?

It appears you're not willing to accept your financial situation and seek to appoint candidates that are most likely to benefit you financially, which makes sense.
Clearly you believe the individuals you vote for have the potential to have some degree of impact on your situation.
Yet you unconditionally accept racism, dismiss any effort against racism as just "useless speaking about it" and up to this point you refuse to acknowledge one way or the other that both the government and the judiciary can have a positive or negative impact on the effects of systemic racism and its implementation.

Will the people see a truly major decrease in racism or its influence in their lifetimes? Extremely unlikely. But there are many measures that can be taken to improve people's lives, including decreasing systemic racism's effect on people of color. Due to the reality of politics, those are often very small steps and it is very hard to get something done on such a controversial topic. But a step is a step nonetheless.

and even if he did
he did it in a dem state
with a dem president
so why are u voting republican
Like I said I got more $ this time around than when obama was on office . How I don't specifically know to be honest but my tax guy said you got more bec. Of who is in office. No more questions for me after that and I went on with extra $ in my pockets

You have great valid points I just don't see it happening anytime soon. It's definitely heard a lot more now because of trump but I believe this has been going on for quite some time and will not stop for a while. I believe there is a chance it can happen

Paul Ryan seems to claim he is unaware of the US constitution. The Congress has the power to override a presidential veto with a 2/3 majority in both houses, which he conveniently failed to remember. How strange, given that Republicans in Congress have exercised that very power in 2016. Obama vetoed a bill that would allow the families of 9/11 victims to sue Saudi Arabia for damages over 9/11, which would open up the US to the same kind of lawsuits and liabilities according to Obama.
The GOP majority in Congress along with some Democrats to reach the 2/3 majority then voted to override Obama's veto. Congressional Republicans later proceeded to blame Obama for not warning them enough to stop them from overriding his veto.

Yet Paul Ryan just can't seem to remember. Absolutely nothing Congress can do to rein in Trump's tariff powers and prevent his trade war from dragging not only the US' economy down but the global economy as well. If only there was some power granted to them by the US constitution that could make it irrelevant whether or not Trump vetoes the bill.

All in all, good news for the Trump voters that no measures are being considered by congressional Republicans to minimize the self-inflicted economic damage.
Sure the damage may continue to eat away at any benefits they have received from the tax cuts or wage growth if any, but they can rest assured the libs are going to be hurt too.

You don’t think trump being in office has moved the needle in regard to race and racism within our political system? I’m not talking about personal feelings either. I’m talking specifically in regards to politics.
