OFFICIAL STOCK MARKET AND ECONOMY THREAD VOL. A NEW CHAPTER

I have a call debit spread for $25/$35 In November
I bought when the stock was at $30
Now it’s reached $35 and I wanna sell it.
it’s my first time doing a call debit spread, how do I go about selling it. It only gives me a “open/close” option
Tried doing it today but it was canceled.
can someone explain what went wrong

Took profits with $DKNG. Market cap just didn’t make sense. I’ll add on the dip. Added positions in $FB and $SAGE

$DKNG market cap is $11 B
$PENN - $4 B
$WYNN - $9 B
$MGM - $8 B

I can’t see $DKNG online footprint/partnerships is worth more than the extensive footprint of these legacy casino brands. I’ll take profits now, and buy the dip later
Revenue growth is more relevant than marketcap. Just saying.

wish I had the money to buy the lows in twlo and fsly. Fantastic recoveries today. I hope wekeep running tomorrow. Felt like capitulation today.

DKNG with some gap here.

Little advice that is really important:

IF you like a stock as a long term idea, never sell your entire position. Trade around a core if you have gains you want to lock in and the trend if weakening or there is some pressure from the market. Sell a little, buy it back on dips. Also, if you have a stock you like for the long term (1-5 years), don't just buy once and hold it and never look at it. DCA into it. Add to a winner on dips with the trend. Realistically, you shouldn't be adding into a position that goes below your average unless you took a small size with that goal. You should be adding to winners on the way up.

I've booked gains in FSLY, PINS, TWLO, DDOG and AYX, and although I've taken full positions off in TWLO, DDOG and AYX to create capital opportunities for other investments, I added back some of those sales (not AYX yet) because I believe in the long term outlook and wanted to decrease some risk. Now, this raised my average up, but I also locked in money, so I'm ok with that. My plan isn't tomorrow, it's 5 years from now, I'll live with an average that's a little higher today that will be a bargain down the road if my thesis is correct.

Also, don't look at market caps of competitors in a young stock in its growth phase, it's just noise. TSLA is $820 and F is $5 or whatever it is because one is in a growth phase producing tremendous amounts of revenue growth and the other is stagnant. High revenue growth, high gross margins and minimal cash burn is more important than a market cap. When a stock is overly extended like SHOP at $850, you can take some profits, maybe you don't add anymore into it at that price, but you don't close the whole position unless you have a better growth potential or safer play (if you need to decrease risk) somewhere else.

Just terrible numbers and now the layoffs are spreading to white collar jobs. Still bullish for the stock market. Another big up Thursday on the way.

I’m still bear, but it’s funny when everyone says one thing the market behaves the complete opposite way. Honestly don’t think I’ve learned anything during these past 2 months.

Of course we're in a bull market. We're more than 20% off the low. But that doesnt mean the markets cant crumble into Bolivia like they did 3 months ago, at an equal rate, at the drop of a ****ing hat. Where has the economy actually improved to support such a wild turnaround in investor sentiment and market gains? Last I saw, GDP figures are being revised down even more, every time they're checked.

But hey, not fighting the flow, just riding it now.

I'm on Hopium that a 2008 - 2011 downturn in housing and commercial RE will return.
In the hot areas, bidding wars are still rampant.
This was a Virus Crash...I'm waiting on the Real Crash.

That's where I'm at. If I can buy some decent vacation property that I can AirBnB for a few years im going to do it in a heartbeat.

That being said, who was in here the other day saying that air traffic is back?
