I had my girl do a really simple outline of THE IDEA of exactly what i want done.. obviously it's not height and width proportionate but I just wanted to see what it would look like. here it is.

Showed it to my guitar instructor from high school and he thought it was an amazing idea, because he's seen the treble with the heartbeat, but not with a staff like that. I'll probably get the heartbeat lines going over the top of the staff like in the picture I posted before, and the sizing of the picture I posted before. Really like how that one came out

Should be getting it done soon, once I get the money.

I think I decided I want it either in the inner right bicep going up towards my shoulder, or across the outer of my bicep and around.. not quite sure yet. Leaning towards the armband-type idea tho.. just more money.

i used aquafor for the first 2 days after my tat last time and I started to get bumps that looked like "goose bumps" but they were a little bigger. and it didnt go away until i started using non-scented lotion instead

i came to the conclusion that i was allergic to aquaphor,

what do you guys recommend as an alternative?

Lubriderm is what I use, though I like Aveeno's (non scented) texture better.

Only reason why I use Lubriderm is cause its sold at Costco for as a bundle.

my artist recommends nothing for the first full three days to let it breath and heal.  all the while cleaning it with antibacterial soap twice a day. on the 4th day you start applying whatever basic lotion with no additives, like lubriderm or eucerin, 2-3 times a day.  

i healed like a champ following those instructions.  my artist recommended it this way as it doesn't cause you to ooze tons of plasma during the healing process.

I just realized this was happening to me too but only in a certain spot. I also used Cetaphil to clean my tattoo along with Lubriderm. Looking at my Lubriderm bottle and it doesn't say fragrance free

First time in a year in this post, does anyone have any anatomical type tattoos of under the skin? Im getting one tomoro on my shoulder and wasn't looking for a "cutup" look but the sheer muscle and ligaments showing.

Not shoulder, but this is Slyvain Chavanel's leg. French pro-cyclist and "anatomical machine" is very well executed.

In the music school recently and an asian girl had a similar piece across her back, but contained what I presumed to be an influential music piece. Instead of straight across, she had the the lines angled 30ish degrees toward her opposite shoulder and with a slight wave. Looked great. She did too.

Thanks Sunshineblotters.  And yeah, it's going to be all black and grey.

Fong, I get where you're coming from completely.  I chose black and grey long before even setting up the consult.  Given the Thai theme the colors would need to be super vibrant and while I love the colorful nature of the the statues baring the images, I just couldn't get down with the necessary colors on my arm.  

I know you always posted about your mixed feelings towards your sleeve and the evolution, but I've always thought it was dope since that first usugrow piece.

Thanks dude. The Usugrow will forever be that one that I thought I knew what I was doing but in the end, didn't. Oh well. It could have been worse. Its literally lost with the other stuff I have on my arm cause no one can really see it anymore since it was so abstract to begin with.

And for you Bay Area heads, the Bay Area Tattoo convention is coming in a month. Unfortunately I won't make it this year but it's always a good time seeing all your favorite tattoo artist in one place.

I think this is in almost every subculture. I frequent a skate forum and dudes be hating like no other. But I would think that is how it is with anything whether sports, people with money, art, etc.

Speaking of, Troy Denning is one of the most drama filled tattoo artist as far has his Insagram goes. Dude literally loves showing how hard he is with tattooing and how certain people are fake. What's ironic is I swear he hated on that tattoo reality contest show. Then this year, he was a guest judge. Haha.

Yeah, people just can't help be negative on any topic / subject. Sounds like a lot of elitism too. People in general are already critical of tattoos, looks stupid when tattooed people are hating on each others' work. They make it seem like you're required to get certain body parts tattooed first.

My wife jus got her last session completed for her half sleeve... Inkfiend in Alhambra, CA.. Tim is the artist. Cool dude, relaxed place, great results.. wife very happy with it too. Pic is part way through the final ink.
