What status quo has HOV shaken up?
Come on. Of those 2, Jay is the one you should question the least.

Look where he's from and where he is now. All of the businesses he's involved in.
Yeah but one could say rich white men always did business with the colored dude that could make them money.
Your point?
status quo
play

noun \-ˈkwō\

 • : the current situation : the way things are now

Status quo is a Latin phrase meaning the existing state of affairs, particularly with regards to social or political issues. In the sociological sense, it generally applies to maintain or change existing social structure and values.

If we're all in agreement that rich old white men will work with and exploit anyone who can make them richer, then what status quo is Jay-Z exactly shaking up?

Just for the sake of being devil's advocate.

You don't think his endeavors into the Sports management field qualify?

Buying his own brand of champagne when he has a fallout with Cristal?

I don't view people working with anyone who will make them richer a trait that is specific to one race.

In fact, isn't Kanye attempting to do the same in the fashion world but not getting the look yet?

You're right man, you see they tried to change the rules up when Jay-z first got into sports management.

and you didn't even mention tidal and those heavyweights he chose to go up against

Also pretty sure it was a rich black guy that appointed Jay President of Def Jam

You really think LA Reid was the utmost authoritative figure in that process. I don't think there's any rich black guys at the head of their parent company.

LA was Chairman of Island Def Jam. No one stopped him.

Obviously there were people above him within the Universal system. As long as **** isn't a mess at said label, they will likely let a Chairman make his hires.

If you have evidence that some rich white guy above LA wanted Jay as President, come wit it.

So if you're acknowledging the fact that he has bosses...do you believe LA Reid could make a decision that like without approval?

That's just common sense...the little boss can't make a decision if the big boss doesn't stamp it. Do you believe if "some rich white guy above LA" didn't want Jay in that position that LA Reid would have still been able to do that?

Yea lets act like Ye ain't making moves bc his delivery is different than Jay

He the one that's always begging for a pat on the head. Of course he makes moves but obviously he feels like they don't fully accept him. That's what all these crazy rants are about.

Keep buying that "im a revolutionary here to upset white america" spiel Kanye been selling since Yeezus.

We talking about the same ***** that was just on camera feeding some wild flexible euro fashion dudes food out of his hands right?

Aight.

Been the same revolutionary Ye since college dropout. Certain folks primarily pale peoples really get their panties in a bunch when you don't play the obedient negro lol

So why does he keep begging for their approval? Begging Zuckerberg, begging on Ellen, on Sway etc. He got the interracial family. He doing everything to buy in but they don't want him. His rants use to have a point and meaning, now he's just looking for acceptance.

It would be dope if him and Jay started their own clothing/shoe company. Jay could have his line of suits. Kanye can have his sneakers, homeless shirts and skinny jeans. Call that **** Throne. Get that to pop and say "**** these other brands". That's revolutionary. Everything Black owned.

Because no matter how successful he is Kanye needs white acceptance, which is why that yeezus album shouldn't be taken seriously. He thinks those elites that's been in the fashion business for 50+ Years will let him in just because he has influence on hipsters. Sure they'll give him a job but never will they allow him to walk amongst them.

I don't see it so much as begging for approval more of why cant we eat at the same table too. Really when you set aside the antics & delve into the message it's the same **** we been fighting over for centuries. Jay spoke on it the a while back there are certain arenas where a select group of ppl run things & when a Jay or Ye shows up everyone looks around like what is he doing here? Why? We can design with this best of them either or do business with the best of them either? I do agree about your everything black owned point though.

Its easy as hell to vilify Ye like the white world wants you to but look at his moves. That's what I'm inspired by, not the tabloid gossip that they spew like anyone is perfect.

Would you be asking this question if LA Reid was white?

The guy is the ******* chairman of a company. People like him are in those positions because they are trusted to make sound decisions. Or they aren't in those positions anymore.

At that level they aren't really "bosses". I never used that term. But there is a hierarchy that provides checks and balances.

You don't believe he has ANY autonomy to make hires as he sees fit?

Again, if you have evidence, come with it. Otherwise, your hearsay is exactly the same as mine.
