Kwame was playing very very bad at that time to the point where it makes you vomit everytime he's on the floor that's why no one cares about analysing the trade..

I get that, still stupid. Steven A doesn't get paid to tell jokes, he was there to speak on the deal and did nothing. Even his semi point about the two picks from LA would be meaningless since they would be good, he forgot to mention that Memphis's draft picks would then be ENHANCED. Again, analyze the damn deal.

He never even mentioned Critt or Marc Gasol, probably cuz he knew nothing about them. The bottom line of any trade is youth in return + picks.

Orlando just traded Dwight, you all see how much young talent is on that squad right now? They have 4 blue chip prospects, 2-3 nice young pieces behind that, and 2-3 vets they can move, plus they'll likely get another top 5 pick in next year's draft. Most of that came from trading Dwight. That's how you build.

Same thing in the NFL when you trade a Hershel Walker for Draft picks, same thing in MLB where you trade a player for 3-4 prospects and wait 3 years for them to grow.

All Steven did was say Kwame 19 times. That's ****** stupid. I was on here all day that day tellin people that Memphis just set themselves up real nice and made a great deal, even tho we would be considered the "winners" of the deal, Memphis was in great shape. Guess what, they are in great shape now. And if they would have Love and Harden, they'd be even better, in fact, quite possibly have a title by now. (alternate universe of course)

All that to say I told you do :lol ?

Imagine if CP was right about Dwight we'd never hear the end of it, he's bringing up I told you so's from 2009 :p

Since when did getting eliminated in the playoffs equal great shape, we got 3 straight final trips from that deal....made off like bandits point blank.

It wasn't much to analyze at that time. We straight up took Gasol the ski mask way.

Now we see that Marc Gasol can ball so it doesn't look that bad.

Man, ya'll really just straight value lookin folks ain'tcha?

This got nothin to do with I told anybody anything, the DEAL put Memphis is GREAT shape, the PROBLEM is, they half assed it after the fact.

Again, they could have walked from that deal in TWO years, 2 years, with Marc, Love, Rudy, Harden, Conley. It was there. That was their starting five, right there, for the taking, have it. It's all theirs.

They didn't do it. They wanted OJ Mayo. :lol :lol

Other things worked for them, they got Randolph, they got Tony Allen, etc, they are still solid and doin well. But look at that 5 again, under 25 all of them, they had a chance to OWN the NBA for a while. All within 2 seasons.

Got nothin to do with I told you so, has to do with what might have been. We all thought OKC was elite forever with KD, Russ, Harden, Ibaka, lasted like 2 seasons. :lol Memphis could have taken Harden away from OKC, and had an even better/deeper/stronger core.

They woulda run into similar money stuff eventually, sure, but Conley/Marc were under smaller type deal, Love/Harden would have been under rookie deals for 3-4 seasons, they would have had time to sift thru the roster and maybe cheaply kept the core intact. We'll never know tho.

Thoughts on the league stepping into the Chris Paul trade, CP?

(awaiting 5 page paper)

i legit think CP would punch stern if he was walking down his street.

The thing that pisses me off the most about the whole CP3 debacle is there STILL is no valid
explanation for what happened. It's like David Stern threatened our organization behind the scenes to
keep quiet and everybody else around league turned a blind eye to it because it happened to the Lakers

It felt like WWF backs it's hay when Vince, Shane-O-Mack, and the rest of The Corporation was just straight
up screwing people and there was nothing you could about it

CP I get your point but everyone at that time felt that it was highway robbery that we got Pau for can't hold a whopper Kwame Brown. Marc wasn't a well known commodity and who knows how those draft picks would turn out at the time. I mean we were near the top of the West standings before we landed Pau at that time right? It was a steal in retrospect, not so much now. I will give the Logo a big hug for gifting Pau to us.

Surely we "won" the deal.

But Memphis was never at any point robbed. There were a few pointing it out.

Best part tho obviously was no LO or Bynum in the deal. I loved that part.
