Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Couldn't help but think what could've been with Ant Man after watching Baby Driver.

For those asking about my Teen Wolf theory (1985 movie not MTV show), it starts at 22 min mark #NBALockdownInsiders

Amin el hasin said the movie teen wolf is a story about white people's fascination with black people

Amin El Hassan is one of the worst fake smart dudes on ESPN, have no clue how he got an NBA job.
That being said, his Teen Wolf theory is :lol Not too hard to believe but still hilarious.

Not sure how he got an ESPN gig, but thinking about his theory... he might be on to something.

I haven't read or heard his theory but I remember being 6-7 years old watching this Movie at my Aunts house daily.

I remember my cousins(teenagers) always talking about how the guy who played the Wolf (costume) had to be black because of the way he carried himself.

They always said the Wolf was ripping off their style.

He just needs to stop with the fake, whiney voice he does when he imitates athletes complaining.

Agreed. When he's not trying too hard to be funny, I actually enjoy him. When he first got to ESPN I was a big fan, over the years his ego has grown a little and he's started to get more and more annoying.

Watched Okja last night. That was a fun movie. Really engaging and a solid story. Did not know Jake Gyllenhall or Paul Dano were in this before going in, so they were fantastic surprises. Jake was hilarious imo, Dano was great as the ALF terrorist. Everyone was great. Simply put, the acting was great to amazing all the way around.  Tilda Swinton needs to chill with the over-the-top weird characters for a little bit though. Between this and Snowpiercer, I can't see her normal anymore.

Joon-ho Bong is probably my favorite foreign director at this point. Everything this guy touches is fantastic. I need to see him go back to some grimey, dirty, crime stories like Memories of Murder or Mother again. The Host, Snowpiercer, and Okja are all fantastical sci-fi/adventure movies, but I still think his best are the character-driven mysteries. Okja was a fun ride though; really well done.

Easy 7/8.

Baby Driver 7/8

Great movie.

At first I was just like cool this is another good movie that incorporates music to an amazing level.

But then the middle of the 2nd act all the way to the 3rd act. Such a crazy insane great climax.

The very ending though, meh.

Spacey was amazing as per usual but I really got to admire him since I haven't seen him in anything other than House of Cards as of late. So this was refreshing.

I actually wanted more Punisher in this and that's usually rare. I kept expecting him to show up for the last robbery :lol

Jamie Foxx was so ******* good. Had me laughing and interested in his character.

Jon Hamm though :smokin Wright had his character progression on point. Friendly associate but then **** hits the fan and son is full on villain and it worked perfectly where you can't even be mad at him.

I was really surprised by Spacey at the end, did not expect that at all.
Well I could see the movie was more a love story or half of it.

It was like some romance action flick :lol (new movie genre alert! 8o ).That's another thing about the choice of music and the amount of it. Something so up beat usually isn't applied to thrillers or action stories.

But yeah, the theme of love was popping up and consistent so when it changed his mind it was a good change of pace.

I mean even with Bats and Buddy, Spacey's character was coming off the most ruthless and dangerous of them all.

Cloverfield gets a 7.5/8 for me. Saw it in the theaters. Blew me away.

10 Cloverfield lane Got maybe a high 5? I was let down.

I felt the joint with MEW and Goodman was far better just from a story perspective.

Cloverfield really didn't feel original to me they just shot the whole thing a different way. Aliens invade on new years, nobody knows what's going on, army tries to stop giant aliens.

Also I must stress I'm like one more found footage flick away from 100% hating it and beginning to think any director that uses it is a hack.

I can def see that POV (no pun intended). Lane had me hook, line, and sinker with the acting and cinematography. Then I remember some things started to fall apart and piss me off. Inconsistencies within their own set of rules, if that makes any sense :lol

Anyways, there are like 2 found footage shaky can type films that I can stand. Cloverfield is 1 haha

The second Cloverfield was closer to an 8/8.

The first was just, a hack as Zik said.

I'd give it a movie/8 word to CP

I saw a found footage movie about a year ago and it was exceptional.

I was Fresh off of having my Wisdoms out and can't remember anything except 1 scene, so I know I was high AF and may have imagined this....

Got my head working OT trying to put a name to it.
It had to be real.
I think......[emoji]128542[/emoji]

It was about an Alien invasion.
Dudes were somewhere off the grid doing some kind of Motocross or something.
Not like Green skinned Aliens either, like real Aliens.

It may have been a short.
Man ****.

I recently finished The White Princess.

So I went back and watched The White Queen.

Now, I'm rewatching The Tudors.

Man WATTBA. (Back then)
The Tudors was my first watch out of all of them, and though I didn't see it until 3-4 years after the Series ended I was glad because I got to binge it hardcore, and it was Grand.

Now that I've seen The Queen and the Princess, it's so dope to watch Henry VIII (Tudors) again. The Queens son and the Princess brother, and in those Series he was a wee young lad, not yet King.....boy did he grow up!

Tudors was already great, but it's way better this time around, I'm hype!
