Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

cp getting heated in the star wars thread :lol
i really enjoyed the last jedi. i guess the easier you can shrug off some of the flawed scenes, the easier it is to like the movie. the good stuff overshadowed the bad and imo it had the best fight scene in a star wars movie ever and some of the acting was just fantastic. 7/8.

worst part of the movie experience for me was getting to the theater right before the trailers started and my wife and i rushed to grab food. we both ordered the combo meal special (it came with these big star wars cups). anyway, lady asked if i wanted slaw and i assumed she meant on the burger. come to find out that i got slaw INSTEAD of the garlic fries that it comes with. my wife’s came with the fries cause i said slaw on only one. wife saw my food and had this funny pity faced look and ended up sharing with me.

deer god i cant believe they are bringing back the dark crystal on netflix.

gonna **** in my pants just thinking bout it

anyone watching the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel on amazon? pretty good
Bro I'm addicted to that show.

The lead chick is my newest celebrity crush

Well written show. Someone I know said that Rachel Brosnahan should've been the new Dr Who and he's right. I'm going to be forever sad now that she's not.

Stars Wars 2k17
5/5 from me
I like this trilogy better than the originals. Although Rogue(not part of trilogy)1 was eh.
out b4 blasphemy.

About an hour into Dunkirk. So far 6.8/8

Love the acting. Love the production of everything. Seems super realistic. The sound is insane. That tense feeling is something else man.

One thing I didn't care for was the out of sequence story. I thought it was unnecessary and would have rather the story been shot in a normal linear sequence. It makes following the plot or the action a little confusing, which I'm assuming was the effect they were going for?

Had to crash because it was so late last night but looking forward to finishing up tonight.

I can't wait to rewatch Dunkirk, but man it was definitely a film suited for the theater.

Coco

7.5 / 8

- Incredible animation, colors, and effects
- The themes of 'family comes first' and chasing your dreams were so well done
- I need me a flying cat dragon like Mama Imelda had
- This movie only further confirmed my thought: There's nothing more dangerous in this world than a united family that supports each other.

Not heated at all, just disputing their piss poor takes. Some of them love the prequels (rendering their opinions worthless) and in Lame's case, he's just furious he didn't get the storyline reveal he wanted.

Outside that, most of the reviews (like yours) have been positive. As you said, not perfect, but quality movie, fun experience, and must see in theater. (I'm at 3 times in 4 days :lol )

And it cleared the 2nd largest opening in history, behind......The Force Awakens. :lol

Disney is killin it. And I assure you, the best is yet to come. Once they end all this Skywalker nostalgia, it will really get goin. :smokin

Oh damn, why wasnt anybody raving about Happy! On SyFy?

Watching the first 2 eps now (that is airing on USA).

The way some of the fight scenes are shot reminds me of one of the final fight scenes in Atomic Blond(when she's trying to protect the defector). Plus dude is brutal and is dragging faces like Frank in the Punisher :hat

i have the first 2 eps of happy dl’ed on my comp at work. i’ll give it a go tomorrow since star trek is on hiatus.

Folks going off in Star Wars thread. **** is hilarious. Movie was solid to me and I'm a huge fan. Oh well. :lol

cP you keep bringing up lame not getting his way with Rey being Lukes daughter, but he talked past that and has mentioned Key moments that are really hard to argue against.

I’m actually surprised you loved it as much as you do.

Naw, he saw the spoiler BEFORE he saw the movie, and he did a complete 180 from that point on. He was talkin poetry, and perfection, etc when he was sure Rey was gonna be who he thought, soon as he found out otherwise, he's been trashing the film. :lol

I love it for many reasons, most of it being, Star Wars is about more than the Skywalkers. Always has been. So I'm thrilled with the new direction we're headed.

Went in on movies this weekend (due to fantasy football woes):

Pokemon: I Choose You 3/8 - My nephew had a good time but I can't watch those movies lol.

Fist Fight 4/8 - Ice Cube is not a believable tough guy for me anymore. Charlie Day had some good lines though.

Ingrid Goes West 6/8 - Ice Cube Jr. killed it and Aubrey Plaza is a legit creep.

The Beguiled 6/8 - Idk if they meant for it to be a dark comedy but for me I couldn't stop laughing and Nicole Kidman is still fire.
