Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I thought it was particularly interesting when she said "you don't know what my world is"  I got the feeling at the end, maybe that's what she created for herself.  And then the whole dream angle.  It's flat out an open ended movie, take from it what you will.  I saw the Hell angle on IMDB.  I mean, it's just all over the place.

Instead of Triangle, they shoulda gone with Physco Groundhog Day.  Much cooler.

Triangle had me *weebey* back when I saw it, having to watch it a few more times to get how many _____ there were, what caused what...

I showed it to a friend a few weeks ago and he found this:

*warning*
I don't 100% agree with all of this, but fact checking would be a %##+!.
This is just another reason why this is the horror Inception mixed with Memento to me
And uh...ninjahood status

I ran into that chart, too. LOL is all I have to say. Not even trying.

The Shining comes on BBC America? (channel 264 on DIRECTV) in 15 minutes (it is on now, too, but replays then).

There is also a complete Paranormal Activity knockoff coming on Chiller at the same time. Exact same style and idea, except this one is worse in every aspect, and frankly, it is really awkward. Not terrible if you like the Paranormal Activity movies, but certainly something you could never see and not be missing anything.

Saw Drive today... one of my favorite movies of the year.

Go see it.
Copied from General, my comments.

Just came back from seeing it and I'll say this first, if people are expecting ridiculous Michael Bay-esque driving sequences, you will be disappointed.

With that in mind, the movie was amazing. While there wasn't that much driving, when it happened it was done really well and most importantly, it was crucial to the story. The movie's overall style was very reminiscent of classic heist/driving films of the past. Combining thriller elements, film noir, crime, black humor, violence and gore, all done with unique styling and visualizations which really builds towards a great ending. The performances were terrific, Gosling was awesome... his portrayal was perfect in his role as the Driver. Bryan Cranston didn't disappoint either, and Albert Brooks knocked it out of the park.

The film hit a lot of different marks which resulted in a damn entertaining movie. Great acting, action, styling, love story... it did it all.

Have yet to ever sit and watch Fargo.  I have it in the back of my mind to get too, just never have for some reason.  Maybe because it's hard for me to look at McDormand too long.

at that chart.  The Writer of that movie probably couldn't follow that thing.

Like I needed more reason to be hyped on this. If Drive ain't movie of the year contender, I'm puttin it all on you.

And Dub just reminded me of Blood Simple, another Coen Bros. Saw it once years ago and it was good, gotta find it again.

@#$% you George Lucas, once again.
I'm just tryin to hold off on it as I suspect this might be one of those that drops big time on Black Friday, but I know for a fact, if I see one and put it in my hand, my wallet's coming out.  I'm so weak.

Johnny, I believe you owe us some Gladiator and Old Boy reviews......when can we expect to read those?

Any of you ever seen Life is Beautiful?

Just watched it, after some friends at work recommended it during a conversation about movies like White Oleander, Girl Interrupted, Monster, and Thirteen.

Thoughts on Life is Beautiful, for those that have seen it?

Are those... crickets?

Spoiler [+]
Yes... yes those are crickets. Pretty loud, too. Lots of 'em.
