My bro has a G8 GT. We did 2 runs on the street vs my TL AWD. He got 1, I got 1. Its underpowered for its engine size ( I think its a 6.0?) Making only around 360hp from the factory

Older Stangs and Camaro's are . I used to work at an upholstery shop, and got to see and drive a lot of nice older whips. Unfortunately, here there's a lot of old people into old English cars, so the old American rides were few and far between. The English cars I'd pull straight into the shop, on the rare occasion when an American classic showed up, I'd take it for a rip around the block before pulling it in . I'm partial to the older Camaro's, older Stangs are cool too.Gotcha, in that case I hear you fam.
Been looking at older (pre 1980's Stangs and Camaro's) and my goodness are they pretty. Dont eem care about the performance.
Yea I know that. But GM/Holden could of done better with a 6.0.Awd gives you a BIG advantage in short distances...
They have done better with a 6.0L engine, take a look at the GTO, and the LS2 engine. You can order a crate LS3 6.2L, which is the same engine that went into 2008+ Corvettes, with a GM hot cam swap, that pumps out 480hp. The G8 isn't meant to be a fast race car, it's merely in between a Corvette and whatever cheaper, slower car pontiac offered and then. I'm sure they purposely gave it a weaker V8, in order to convince buyers to step up into a Corvette instead.Yea I know that. But GM/Holden could of done better with a 6.0.
dat honda scene yoKinda irks me when dudes use extremes to make a point, like that civic up there.
Last night...
Speaking of old cars, my dad just bought an old pre-smog Chevy c10 truck today (the one i was taking him to look at when the z06 tried to fly-by me ). It's a pretty clean little truck. slightly lowered with some 10 inch wide rims and a 350 crate motor. In damn good shape for the year

Yeah, I was sad to see Pontiac go. I'd have loved to see a new Trans AM.
The new "G8" is still available in the form of the Chevrolet SS though. Both are badge engineered Commodore's. The new SS is mechanically identical to the old top of the line 400hp G8 GXP.

Not a big car guy but it's time for me to get a new car.
I really want an SUV and want to spend around $35-40K (maybe more but I would have to love it).
Any recommendations? Looking for a new car this time and some thing with good trunk space. Thanks.

People always say that, but 40k isn't that bad.... Especially if they hold their value anything like the GXP has.
