\\ Post Your Car vol. Been a minute //

My bro has a G8 GT. We did 2 runs on the street vs my TL AWD. He got 1, I got 1. Its underpowered for its engine size ( I think its a 6.0?) Making only around 360hp from the factory

Gotcha, in that case I hear you fam.

Been looking at older (pre 1980's Stangs and Camaro's) and my goodness are they pretty. :hat  Dont eem care about the performance.
Older Stangs and Camaro's are :smokin . I used to work at an upholstery shop, and got to see and drive a lot of nice older whips. Unfortunately, here there's a lot of old people into old English cars, so the old American rides were few and far between. The English cars I'd pull straight into the shop, on the rare occasion when an American classic showed up, I'd take it for a rip around the block before pulling it in :lol. I'm partial to the older Camaro's, older Stangs are cool too.

Yea I know that. But GM/Holden could of done better with a 6.0.
They have done better with a 6.0L engine, take a look at the GTO, and the LS2 engine. You can order a crate LS3 6.2L, which is the same engine that went into 2008+ Corvettes, with a GM hot cam swap, that pumps out 480hp. The G8 isn't meant to be a fast race car, it's merely in between a Corvette and whatever cheaper, slower car pontiac offered and then. I'm sure they purposely gave it a weaker V8, in order to convince buyers to step up into a Corvette instead.

Speaking of old cars, my dad just bought an old pre-smog Chevy c10 truck today (the one i was taking him to look at when the z06 tried to fly-by me :lol ).  It's a pretty clean little truck. slightly lowered with some 10 inch wide rims and a 350 crate motor. In damn good shape for the year

I love C10s. What year is the one your old man picked up?

Idk where your from, but there's a big tire shop out here on the West Coast named Calderon. Adam (the owner) has bouhten a couple off of my uncle.

Word, I too believe the LS3 is the best if you're within a budget. If not then of course I would go with an LS7,9, or A. :lol

I've been raised around older Gen III blocks, LT's and such. I've seen my uncle build an engine from the block up, how would one go about doing this with an LS engine?

When I eventually do get my project and swap an LS into it, I'm planning on doing an LS3 and stroking it out to something over 400 Cu. in.

G8s and GTOs :x :{ straight nasty bruh

i hate the way the GTO looks :x they sound ridiculous tho

sucks for Pontiac, G8's were awesome :{

Yeah, I was sad to see Pontiac go. I'd have loved to see a new Trans AM.

The new "G8" is still available in the form of the Chevrolet SS though. Both are badge engineered Commodore's. The new SS is mechanically identical to the old top of the line 400hp G8 GXP.

Adjusted for inflation, it's just about the same price as the G8.

Not a big car guy but it's time for me to get a new car.

I really want an SUV and want to spend around $35-40K (maybe more but I would have to love it).

Any recommendations? Looking for a new car this time and some thing with good trunk space. Thanks.

People always say that, but 40k isn't that bad.... Especially if they hold their value anything like the GXP has.

Yeah I'm a big fan of the Grand Cherokee. Any current owners? Curious on your experience with Jeep.

Both cars I have ever owned are Acura's.

i say it because all cars are a rip off :lol

its the truth unless your filthy rich and it doesnt matter.

anyways SS is an awesome looking car and bet it performs nicely even though at the price it should have a little more under the hood but eh. you wont be seeing too many of them on the road either. i have yet to see one even though they havent sat at dealerships but summer is here so i assume ill see some especially in michigan
