I don't see why you can't go and approach you neighbor to turn down the music. Calling the police for minor issues only leads to a negative outcome.

Desert Hot Springs police officer under internal investigation after he was filmed in the midst of a controversial confrontation with a suspect -- the video has since gone viral -- is no longer employed with the department, officials said.

"All I can say is that officer no longer works for our department," Desert Hot Springs police Deputy Chief Jim Hanson told The Desert Sun on Friday.

In the July 7 video, the officer can be heard repeatedly telling the suspect of a battery investigation: "Stop mad-dogging me! Stop mad-dogging me!" Desert Hot Springs police Chief Dale Mondary identified the suspect as Joshua Felix.

The officer—whose name has not been released due to the ongoing investigation — can be seen standing very close to the suspect claiming to be a victim of police harassment.

"You haven't seen harassment yet," the officer told the suspect.

The situation escalated further when the suspect called the officer a "******," which resulted in him being placed in handcuffs. He was released before a formal arrest was made after both sides of the battery case decided not to press charges.

A video of the altercation went viral after it was shared by the hyperpartisan website "Wake Up America," and it quickly reached close to 900,000 views. Subsequently, the video triggered an internal investigation into the officer's conduct.

"Contrary to what people are saying on social media, he has not committed a crime," Mondary said about the officer. At which point, the department continued to investigate whether the officer violated its code of conduct, according to Mondary.

Even though these investigations are not entirely uncommon, the department still takes them very seriously, Mondary said.

"We don't do them every day, but if we do them, it's a big deal," he said.

The double standard is quite amazing. A 17 year old boy is too young to know better than say racist things online and is too young to know how the internet works. But let it be a black teen knucklehead, and they get tried as adults and get the book thrown at them.

Had a crazy racist thing happen to me last night. Wish I would have started recording.

So my parents are visiting from Missouri, here in Oregon. They are staying with some friends at one of those gated older folks communities. So I went over to visit.

I pull into the place and see there’s a key code gate entry. I don’t have the code yet but As I’m pulling up, I see my mom walking up to the gate. Cool, she’ll just open it for me so I’ll pull forward. Literally 10 seconds after pulling forward, this old white lady appears in her car behind me. Starts honking her horn. I’m thinking damn chill lady, she’s about to open the gate.

Well the clicker my mom had wasn’t working. Cool I’ll just enter the gate code when she gives it to me. This lady keeps honking and throwing up her hands. AND she’s right on bumper. So my mom walks around and talks to the lady. “Hi there mam, sorry for the hold up. I’m visiting friends that live here. They gave us the clicker to open up the gate but it doesn’t seem to be working right now. Would you mind clicking open the gate so my son can get through?”

The lady: No. you can type in the code.

My mom: oh they didn’t give me the code, could you type it in? Also My son can’t back up because you’re so close to his bumper.”

The lady: it’s secret. (Rolls up her window)

So I pull inches away from the gate to try and get enough room to backup around the lady. As I’m backing up the lady rolls her window down and yells at me “IM TrYiNG TO GeT Around YoU!!”

I saw calmly, “I can see that mam, I’m trying to let you by but there’s not much room.”

Then this old bag says “you’re not even allowed in here anyways. They don’t let any of your people live here. That’s why I moved here because there’s no coloreds.”

I was god damn floored. I’ve only ever experienced non-Chalant ignorant racism. Never full blown bold bigotry. I totally froze up and didn’t even know what to say so I just said “go **** yourself lady!”

She clicked the gate open, sped through, and rapidly clicked it closed as fast as she could. Wish I could have had an actual convo with her. Anyways, my parents friends called and gave me the code. I drove right past the lady’s house and got mean mugged. I’m sure the cops were called.

It’s sad that people or so crap scared of POC even in their secluded little gated communities. Probably the most exciting thing that happened to this old bag in ages. She probably can’t wait to tell all her bingo buddies about how her life was in danger and she protected the community from such dangerous people.
