Push is the one that said the blackface thing goes beyond rap.

I never asserted Push was cosigning Ye's position on things, or he agreed with Kanye's position. I expected him to disagree and I'm happy to hear the confirmation. I question why he finds Drake actions so problematic when he can make peace with working closely with someone that cosigns white Supremacy so publicly.

I just said he should keep the same enery. Why publicly ask Drake to answer for his actions yet with Kanye his simply leaves it at a disagreement. There is still hypocrisy in that position.

I swear any criticism of Pusha is treated like a defense of Drake and dudes sink in their heels. Sheesh

If Drake does interviews take some moral stance against embellishing stroies about drug dealing, yet treats Wayne with kids gloves on the issue. Then he would be a hypocrite too

Realistically, I don't think Drake wants any parts of that black issues hypocrisy/Kanye convo because although there is something there just from association, he basically hasn't spoke on much of anything in that regard at all despite having prolly the biggest platform in rap. Push also just happens to be one of the few rappers these past few years that has been consistently tryna get black ppl more involved and knowledgeable about politics and speaking about the need for prison/police reform and other issues that heavily affect the black community.

Although he's extremely misogynistic in his raps, and although he tries to distance himself at times from the wholesome nice guy shtick, it's still largely who he's associated as. And because of that, the whole baby thing stings more than it would any other typical rapper, then you have the blackface thing on top of that.

Loyalty is important in the music industry. This Pusha and Ye situation kind of reminds me of the Joe Budden, Eminem, and Royce Da 5 9 situation. Joe was critical of em’s album and called it trash, while Royce felt Joe was out of line because of Royce’s loyalty to em. Many of us agreed with Joe, but Royce wouldnt dare ish on Em’s trash album because of his loyalty and relationship with Em. Drake will be fine because his crowd is his “crowd”. Push gone continue being a legend because he was already that. He just enlightened the PC rap culture (Ironically, rap was never meant to be PC). I don’t see how people call themselves rap fans, but want a PC, “let’s be nice and friendly” approach. Rap was never meant for that. Rap is about crushing your competition! Pusha is putting all these “new” rap fans on notice that, this genre ain’t meant to be friendly! I love it!
