Rap About Nothing: Hip Hop Chat Thread

......
What happened to Max Minelli? He put BR on the map along with Young Bleed and the Concentration Camp.

Man I haven’t seen Max name in a min, Le$ had him on a track a few years ago. I swore he was going to win because he had Happy Perez behind him. Happy P blew up, he produced How Ya Do That 20 years ago and in 2018 he’s producing tracks for Future, Tory and other pop stars.

Yup. Gilly taught Wayne the East Coast structure, ad libs and extra ****. But Wayne could always rap.

He got some verses today that still go. He just washed, raps in an annoying voice and over bad beats now....and nobody wants to hear from him anymore.

facts

in total retrospect of waynes career

his voice and the competition changed moreso than him

There's a Mikkey Halstead record out there on youtube from like 03-04 that sounds EXACTLY like Carter 1-2 era Wayne

I think that Wayne sound was like a mix of what Mikkey and Gillie both were doing. Wayne has said himself that his style was influenced by Mikkey tho, _ just gets weird when Gillie is brought up lol

Its crazy to think Kanye was supposed to sign to Cash Money when Mikkey did  Birdman didn't like sampling so his whole style would've been different

Nobody jammed Foxx album but this was a strip club anthem in the south for a lil min

And this was the **** ****** used to sneak diss they lil chick with on MySpace back in the gap.

Carter 3 was trash. You said track. The entire Drought 3 is probably his best work since Carter 2

The Drought 3 is damn near a masterpiece.

I credit that tape with fine tuning my ears to listen for more than a beat. Catching all the clever **** Wayne said was mind blowing for my middle school mind. It was like an audio where’s Waldo  Id catch a different bar every listen.

Man Happy made majority of Young Bleed’s best album MBAMW. I saw his name on Ye’s work too.

Makes me wonder about KLC and Beats By da Pound...

Max was ill, maybe he didn’t have the appeal and persona that fit for the industry.

man that **** faker than ****.

dudes resorting to making up disses to save their boy. go thru the thread he making up lines and ****

Yea I just peeped  man let off like 3-4 tweets with 2-3 bars, man what lol

Tbh, I never got the hype with that tape. Probably because I didnt listen to it much then.. However i remember live from the 504 freestyle. That joint was fire.

Yeah this song was big for him, I remember the OG, then he put out the remix with Paul around the time Houston blew up he got crazy spins with it.

The Drought 3 is prolly the greatest mixtape of all time. IDC y’all can @ me.

Joint got him blazing hot. He legit stole peoples songs  I remember them playing his freestyles on the radio with the originals or even instead of the original

It’s still fire to me.

The Intro on disc 1 where he attempts West Indian patois over this is why I’m hot is the best worst **** ever

Man I used to listen to a lot of Bay Area and Cali rappers:

Rass Kass, Mack 10, Snoop, Kurupt, Dog Pound, Sugar Free, Mc Eiht, DJ Quick, Cube, Dre, Warren G, Dove Shack, Above the Law, Compton Most Wanted, soul of Mischief, MC Breed, pharcyde, ants banks, bad ***, bloods & crips, DJ Pooh, Jayo Felony, south Central Cartel

E-40, MAC Mall, B-Legit, Celly Cel, Domino, Goldy, JT, Luniz, Yuckmouth, Rappin 4 Tay, Spice 1, Suga T, Too Short (who’s actually from Louisiana), 3x Krazy, Brotha Lynch, Dru Down, Richie Rich, The Click, Goldy

this is ****ing pathetic

Forget that. This sounds dumb.

Did he really think trying to imply Push is so desperate he sent goons to Paris to rob Kim? Better off pulling a Pac and claiming he banged Kim and would bang Pusha's fiancee.

That’s funny because Yikes is the only track I’ve heard also and it’s crazy because I just saw Pierre insinuate he produced it and didn’t get his credit for it. :smh: NT been hyping him for a min, if everyone is saying that’s the best track on Ye...he’s about to really be outta here...y’all called it.
