mental illness he says.

I edit my posts to fix nit-picked grammatical errors! Big deal, you really had to point something insignificant out because your whole ideology and lifestyle is on it's way to the crematory.

Now he wants to tell me to go else where with my 'e-revolution' ! As if the the things I am saying will merely disappear into thin air with my absence. I'm sure you wish the things I was saying weren't real as opposed to inevitable.

Your my dude Anton and I agree with you on many things. You are out of your element and this is something you don't understand. You and DC are black, from different backgrounds yet you are trying to put labels and pigeonhole Latin culture. Let it be, keep pushing. Ninjahood laid it out for you. He doesn't share anything with you and he probably never will. The sad thing about black people in the United States is that they don't want to be judged or stereotyped based on their skin color then come up with with this crap. Telling a Latino to embrace their "blackness" ( whatever the *#*$ that means, black folks don't even know what the *#*$ that means) is like telling a kid that never met his father to embrace him as an adult simy because it's his father by blood. You don't understand Latino culture, we get it. Take Ninjahoods words, back the *#*$ up. Sorry if it looks bad, posting from my phone

So what's the argument here? I agree with this statement....my point is he goes out of his way to say he's "hispanic" when hispanic/latino culture is just as diverse as black culture. All this tells me is he's embarrassed to be associated with "blackness".  That's like me going on rants about how I'm Nigerian and not black, that would be ridiculous would it not?

He groups DC and I into "black culture" and separates himself from it. Why does he get the luxury of taking himself out of the black diaspora? You may be missing the point about my argument. I hate labeling people, I'm not even saying Ninjahood needs to call himself anything....just tryna expose a flaw in his thinking process. Why is a "black person" from England black and ninjahood isn't?

Lemme put it another way in an attempt to show you my point of view. What does an apple and an orange have in common? They are both roundish....and fruits. There are many adjectives you can use to describe an apple. Imagine said apple saying it is red and not round in an attempt to separate itself from other round fruits.

I understand that I'm technically White, but what I'm saying is that is not how White ppl view me. Besides I'm White because I have European ancestors, but we don't typically say your not German you're White. The point is everyone is trying to fit someone into some perfect little category, but the fact of the matter is it isn't that simple. A black looking Hispanic could be mixed with White, and he would be no more African than White, so why force him to be one or the other?

So should light skinned Hispanics embrace their "whiteness"?

My mom and dad both hail from Durango, Mexico. My dad is dark, looks like an Aztec warrior (lol), my mom is light skinned, blonde hair.

I don't feel white, people have confused me for being white. Should I add an extra bullet point on my resume "I'm White ;D"

You're making my point......I think. Why is ninjahood more "hispanic" than black if hispanic culture is diverse? Ninjahood is not a descendant of the Aztecs. I'm clearly not talking about hispanics in general.....Peruvians are hispanic and have nothing to do with the "African diaspora".

Ninjahood chooses to separate himself from an arbitrary label he is technically a part of, and places himself in another arbitrary label. I'm not black, I'm hispanic.....I don't think he understands how ridiculous that sounds. Why is he more hispanic than black...cause he speaks spanish?

Your sig says "Team Nigeria" though.
You ashamed to embrace your blackness bro?

Fact is, people dont embrace the color of their skin. They embrace their culture.

You mightve seen me post a picture of Ice T, dude is as light as it gets. You expect him to embrace his whiteness now?
You want the chinese dude selling you your chinese food to start telling you about his whiteness? This is basically what youre advocating.
Im light as hell bro, never in a million years would I sit here and try to have people tell me to embrace my white skin. To the WASP I aint nothin but a $#@+.
+*$$ is way deeper than skin color bro.

Pele, one of the greatest soccer players ever...should he embrace his Brazilian culture or his "blackness"?

My girls mother who is from the Dominican Republic and is probably as dark as you but has been cookin them chicken and beans, with the fried platano her whole life...should she embrace her dominican culture or her blackness? How the *+!@ do you embrace blackness anyways? Is there a special day for this? Im pretty sure nobody is foolish enough to accept historical facts of their origins, but what else you want from people other than that?

Point is people are actually doing what Mr. King wouldve wanted, what Malcolm X wouldve wanted. Looking PAST the mere color of skin and embracing their experiences, their culture, what they know.
You stuck on color bro, with that type of mentality we all going nowhere fast.

AFTER READING THESE PAGES, ANTON MAKES THE MUST COMPELLING ARGUMENT, I HAVE PLENTY OF DOMINICAN FRIENDS THAT ARE DARK SKINNED, THAT SEEM TO THINK THAT THEY HAVE NO TYPES OF BLACK BLOOD, AND THEY HAVE ALOT OF HATE FOR HAITIANS.N

EXAMPLE: I TOOK A LATIN STUDIES CLASS LAST SEMESTER , THIS "WHITE" SKINNED DOMINICAN GIRL SPOKE ABOUT HOW SKIN COLOR IS A MAJOR FACTOR IN DR, SHE SAID HER FATHER WAS MY SKIN COLOR, WHICH IS " DARK SKINNED" (IM BLACK BTW), AND THAT WHEN  SHE WOULD GO BACK TO DR, HER FAMILY WITH PARADE HER AROUND AND BRAGG ABOUT HER BEING THEIR RELATION, BECAUSE SHE WAS SOOOOOOO "FAIR/ WHITE SKINNED". IM NOT GOING TO SAY THAT ALL DOMINICANS ARE BLACK, BUT A GREAT DEAL OF THEM ARE DARK SKINNED, SO ITS MORE THAN LIKEY THAT THEY HAVE "BLACK BLOOD".

I REALIZE THAT THEY ARE A MIXED PEOPLE, AND IT WOULD MARGINALIZE WHO THEY ARE MY SIMPLY GROUPING THEM AS "BLACK"
BUT ITS FUNNY HOW NINJAHOOD WILL RECONGNIZED HIS " SPANISH & TIANO INDIAN" ROOTS
BUT MAKE THE CLAIM THAT WHEN HAITI TRYED TO TAKE OVER DR....THEY GOT SHUTDOWN AND THAT WHERE IT STOPS
roll.gif
roll.gif
roll.gif
roll.gif

DENIAL= AT IT'S FINEST

TO ALL DOMINICANS, IT SEEMS LIKE SOME SELF HATRED THAT YOU WANT TO RELATE TO BEING "SPANISH AND TAINO" WHEN THAT ITS MOST LIKELY THE LEAST OF THE ACTUAL DNA MAKE UP IN DR.

DOMINICAN ISN'T AN A RACE OF PEOPLE COMPRISED OF MANY RACES AND CULTURES, AND BLACK IS ONE OF THEM.

MY DOMINICAN PEOPLE SHOULD REALLY READ OR GO SEE THE PLAY PLANTANOS AND COLLARD GREENS IF YOUR IN THE NYC, IT WAS VERT INFORMATIVE.
