Methodical Management It's a real bummer that the crowdfunding/pre-order idea didn't pan out. I still think the crowdfunding campaign would be another great idea in general for our community. The holidays are coming up and while there's no specific time that we should be more generous, I think people will respond well given the time of year. Badges or titles could be offered again as incentives.

Looking forward to the next thread about it.

The short answer is this: there will be no pre-orders.

I'd wanted to give caps to users who contributed $100 or more to an upcoming crowdfunding campaign for charity, but the idea didn't work for Cap City and was consequently tabled. 

They were a great partner for the first run of caps and we truly appreciate their willingness to produce a new run TWICE as large as the first.  It requires a tremendous amount of work and a substantial investment, all done selflessly to benefit a worthy charity.  Without that, ZERO caps would be produced.  Unfortunately, given that even the order placed for this new, expanded production run is still exceeded by the demand indicated in our recent poll, many users expressed the desire for us to organize a pre-order campaign to allow them to secure a cap early and avoid a hectic live release. 

In sharing the details of the now-defunct proposal, it was simply my intention to provide those users with an update and inform them that, although it looks like we will be unable to offer any pre-release ordering, we tried our best and will continue to work towards the best possible outcome for all involved.
