Shooting Reported at Las Vegas Casino Hotel

Whether gun laws failed us or not, this is sad that such a tragedy is being politicized right now.

Prayers to the victims and their families affected by this. And also **** this scumbag shooter.

Why is it so hard? Because your post clearly highlights the issue with the cause ... Police are rarely commended for doing a good job ... That man will not even be mentioned beyond my pithy comment on here ... And that is a problem ...

Commended by who?

Agreed prayers to the victims and their families.

But prayers don't change anything, politics and politicians can.

And if we don't talk about gun control now people are just gonna forget about the conversation in a week.

It's so ****** we've reached a point where I feel numb about these events.
**** this world. Why the **** is it so hard to just, you know, not want to hurt someone else? It's literally the easiest thing one can do as a human being.

What world do you live in that police don't get commended for doin a good job?

Just because NT does not kiss their *** like the rest of the country this is an issue?

Really?

What is a bigger issue. Police not getting praise.........Or the killing of innocent people without Justice, municipal fines that are used to plunder poor minority neighborhoods, civil forfeiture that has become legalized theft, the militarization or out police forces, or the practice of stop-and-frisk which has been show to be ineffective, targets minorities, and violates their civil rights

But you think them not getting sufficient praise is the real problem. Oh ok, fine.

Maybe because dudes on NT focus on the other things, you have an issue. But you can go tons of places and find tons of people that will slurp a cop for the slightest thing. NT is not required to be one of those places.

So please, spare me.

This

If after these attacks isn't a good time to talk about this kind of issue, when is? Weeks or months after when the sense of urgency has dissipated, folks have stopped caring and we've been lulled into a false sense of security?

It keeps happening without any semblance of slowing down and I won't buy that doing nothing is the best course of action since this kind of mass killing legit only happens on a regular basis in a single developed country...

Thought of you when I heard it was in Vegas. Happy to hear you're alright man.

Girl I know was just in Vegas but flew out last night. Left the strip early to reach the airport early so she thankfully wasnt around any of this. Heard her voice this morning.

Shame how every time this happens and gun control is brought up people throw their capes on to fly to the defense of the poor helpless guns because they're worried about the government taking away their precious big boy toys :rolleyes

I'm sick bro... I love this city. Vegas is resilient tho, but this is an extremely tough pill to swallow.

Let me just clarify my position, I'm not against or for the gun control debate after this massacre, but I'm sick of these opinions when one side tries to inject their ideology into something totally unrelated to the situation.

Gun 'control' only goes so far. Kinda like making a drug illegal only goes so far. Money +resources +persistence will get you damn near anything in America: guns, drugs, murder, sex. Virtually anything. If someone wants to commit a heinous act, they just gotta get their money up and not get caught.
Of course, but I don't see how this is an argument against implementing stricter rules.

It will always be true that if someone wants to commit a crime they can. The goal is to make it more difficult for those people who don't have unlimited resources at their disposable, which is most of the population.

Do you agree that stricter rules are necessary, or do you think it's a lost cause because anyone can do anything if they really want to?

They will go to any evil lengths (towers, movie theaters, schools, concerts, etc) to feed the “Problem reaction solution” agenda.

Shooter conveniently kills himself thereafter huh = Patsy!

Movie right in front of your eyes unless your eyes are wide shut!

This could happen weekly and folks would still be in denial...clueless.

Exactly. Gun control laws wouldn't have stop this man, because he probably purchased the weapons legally a long time ago anyways! Only legit way gun control work is if the Feds go door to door confiscating ALL guns because the ones ready to kill today are already trained and probably already stocked away a ton of armory. Hell a city in LA, Lawndale, just last week an entire neighborhood block was evacuated because police found military weapons including artillery shells, mortars and grenades from World War II in some parolee's home.
