Vaccaro: Kobe Could Play In Europe
Sep 19, 2008 4:14 PM EST

lal_40.gif
Basketball guru Sonny Vaccaro believes there is a real chance that Kobe Bryant could leave the NBA to play in Europe, according to Los Angeles Daily News.

"I think there is a great possibility, if for no other reason than he will make his value worth much more than anyone can imagine," said Vaccaro. "For the first time, they'll actually be in competition."

"Kobe has his own mind," Vaccaro added. "He's bright. He could have gone to MIT and been successful. I watched his formative years. Even when he left adidas, he did it because it made good business sense. He made decisions. He's never been afraid."

"Kobe is his own man. One of the most unique people I've met in my 69 years."

maybe he means, given kobes work ethic, if kobe was motivated and MIT was his goal, and he was there, he would have been successful?

The Mavericksare hoping that the arrival of Rick Carlisle in town will revitalize the team, especially aging point guard Jason Kidd, according to Dallas MorningNews.

"Automatically," Jason Terry said of whether the team's attitude has changed. "It's obvious, if we come backand play the way we played the last two years, the system wasn't bad, but now you've changed the roster. So we needed to go in a differentdirection."

Carlisle also brought three new assistants to Dallas with him.

"It's going to be really important to keep the fresh approach," new assistant coach Dwane Casey said. "Avery did agreat job of tightening the ship, and he and Nellie [previous coach Don Nelson] were so different. We want to keep it simple."

Terry believes that having Kidd for more than two months is going to make a huge difference for the Mavericks.

"You look at Jason Kidd, and we had him for two months," Terry said. "This is one of the greatest point guards to everplay the game. And two months is really cheating us.

"Now we're going to have him through training camp, and he's going to put his stamp on this team."

As far as Sun Yue is concerned, all I can say is that the only thing I have seen from them was the Olympics. And judging by what I saw there, if we are on theplayground picking teams, I would pick Marc before Sun. Actually, would probably pick Marc, then 1 or 2 others, then Sun.

I feel the same way. I think Marc would have been better. Plus we have 50 people in the back court already. As we saw in the finals you can never have to manybig men.

Im glad we got salim, i wanted them to draft him but he found his way over here. Hope he is productive for us
