In the amount of time you've spent posting in this thread about not having a license the past few days you could have:
  • Studied the Motorcycle Manual so you can pass the written motorcycle test.
  • Appear at a local DMV office that administers written tests with your filled-out Form MV-44 and the $21 permit fee.
  • Pass the test and obtain your motorcycle license.
The questions on the test are common sense.

Well that wont happen to me for a while, I sold it because I couldn't trust people in cars to look out for me when I was commuting I-87 to I-90 for school.

You certainly would never catch me brake checking a Range Rover on my 450 lb vehicle.

How am I being a part of it? All I've said in your direction is that you should get a license and that I never crashed my motorcycle when I owned it.

Has it been said at all in this thread/news reports about the wife of the Range driver ever dialing 911 while the whole drive was happening?

From what I remember from the videos 6min+ duration, there wasn't a single cop on the highway, which baffles me considering the highway it was.
The police were called and under the impression it was basically a "noise complaint" so the urgency wasn't there

i'd really like for the 911 calls from the family in the car to be released to the public

like i'm sure he/she was panicking and made it evident to the operators that it was an extreme situation and got ignored or at the very least not taken seriously by the 911 operator

My bad I was under the assumption you lived in NY. Just took a glance at your location and see I was wrong.

Just looked at what you need to do get a Texas Motorcycle License:
  • Provide proof of identity and verification that you're a U.S. citizen or have lawful presence.
  • Provide two proofs of Texas residency. One of the documents must prove that you've lived in Texas for a minimum of 30 days.
  • Supply proof of your Social Security number.
  • Provide proof of Texas vehicle registration and liability insurance, if you own your motorcycle.
  • Provide proof of completing a motorcycle safety course approved by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. Completion of this course will exempt you from the driving test if 18 or older.
  • Have proof of registration and insurance on all motorcycles you own.
  • Complete the necessary application forms.
  • Pay the required fees.
  • Pass the written (road rules, signs, and motorcycle), driving (motorcycle operation), and vision examinations (if applicable).
  • The application must include a photograph and thumbprints.
I'm not going to tell you what to do in regards to getting your license or not. I'm not going to argue with you about it either. You're a grown man and can make your own decisions.

It just seems easier and potentially less costly and time consuming to get a license vs. ride unlicensed and deal with getting pulled over, tickets, etc...

LIKE you can't be serious. By using your logic, anybody should be able to drive a car with no license. Tell me how safe the roads will be then.

Same out here in Cali. I have an M1 license. It doesn't mean crap until you're actually out there riding and gaining experience. All the class is watching videos, take a simple elementary test, learning safety instructions, and understanding the basics of operating a motorcycle. Then you go to the DMV, pass another multiple choice test (a lil harder), and that's it. For a lot of people, they just don't have the time, and money to go through this process.

Ummm do you realize how many undocumented immigrants we have out here in Los Angeles? Obviously they don't have licenses and are still driving.

These bikers are making it dangerous for other drivers. They eventually got what was expected for their mob and irresponsible behavior. 
 
"A family father Alexian Lien, being harassed by the streetracers as he tries to get his family to safety, his wife and 5 month old baby. He is followed and attacked. NO racers were killed, one broke his leg when Alexian Lien excaped after they sliced his tyres up. Alexian Lien ended up in hospital needing several stitches and with headinjuries." Sounds like the racers instigated the whole thing and got what they deserved

A Biker's Point of View on the SUV vs Biker Attack


I'm a biker. I passed my test when I was 33 because I moved to a new job in a city where parking and traffic made driving almost impossible. For three years I commuted to work every single day - even in the snow.

Now, nine years later I mainly ride for fun because I work from home. I usually drive places but I have a bike (a Triumph) and ride when the feeling takes me, and when I have to go into London.

I consider myself part of the biker community, but I rarely ride with other bikers. Biking is about freedom and individuality, and if you ride as part of a gang you tend to lose that and become part of an amorphous group.

This summer I broke that rule when four of us toured Scotland. It was huge fun. We were all over 40, and possibly a bit rough round the edges, but we behaved just as we normally do.

We rode at sensible(ish) speeds, we overtook vast trains of cars without endangering ourselves or the drivers and when we met people we were our usual selves. We didn't turn into asshats just because we were part of a group. We just enjoyed ourselves.

In other words we were four individuals who happened to be riding together, but we retained our own ideas of how we should ride and behave - and didn't form a pack mentality.

Based on the videos and accounts I've seen, some of the bikers who form Hollywood Stuntz seem to be a) asshats in the first place and b) the individual's behaviour was skewed by the needs and personality of the tribe. They all became worse asshats than they were in the first place.




They seemed to want to show off, intimidate car drivers, be a menace to society, be above the law and generally behave like the BRMC, Toecutter's Gang or even The Black Widows (kudos to who can name all three films).

The tribe formed an anti-social personality and the bikers within that tribe adopted the collective personality.

But not all bikers are like that. Most of us are individuals. Most us retain a sense of individuality, even when riding with other bikers. The members of Hollywood Stuntz don't represent mainstream bikers or biker behaviour.

The behaviours adopted by certain individuals in Hollywood Stuntz are not necessarily those of bikers devoid of moral values, they're just morally bankrupt humans who happen to be bikers.

I was shocked when I viewed the videos and read the reports. I sided with the Range Rover driver. Even though I hadn't seen what had happened before the video the clustering of the bikes around the SUV, and resultant intimidation, was inexcusable. The fact it escalated into a nasty confrontation (and injury) was, to me, as a result of the biker gang's actions.

Please don't tar all us bikers with the same brush.

9+ years under the belt.

I agree with getting out and riding to gain experience, but I also feel that learning things the proper way is >>>>>>> than learning from online.

It's like learning horrible form from someone who doesn't know jack. It may get the job done, but you doing it all wrong. Feel me?

I'm not going to disagree with th legal aspect, yea no license is illegal

But all jokes aside and you guys be very honest riding the bike in various situations and condition taught y'all to ride way better than doing figure 8's right?
