It's not my preference for his suit to be real techy and that Stark pretty much made all/most of it but it seems like it's going to be part of a lesson where in the end he has to beat the villain with his own tech and not being too reliant on Stark-tech.

I wouldn't be surprised if he is swinging in with a new suit by the end of the film that is made by him.

That was my thought as well. Stark takes the suit, Pete saves the day, Stark tries to give it back, Pete turns it down.

And what's with this Garfield slander

My biggest Holland criticism is the fact that his accent stay slipping

Whereas with Garfield the man sounded straight Queens

I know most are use to old school Spider-Man who strictly relies on his "Spidey Senses", but this is something like a breath of fresh air. Spider-Man, & the Amazing Spider-Man both made their own suits. I'm sure some stuff will change with Stark saying in one of the trailers "If you're nothing without that suit, then you shouldn't have it." If y'all really want this franchise to start rocky for you personally don't think negative, just let this movie be it's own. I was a little thrown off by the first trailer that released showing a lot, but reflecting back on it I believe it's the small details that'll make this movie really enjoyable. I don't know about y'all, but I'm hyped.

I feel like the real reason for the teched out suit has to do with the deal Marvel has with Sony. They're about to make a **** ton of toys. They need every angle to make a move the most product possible.

I like the the tech. We live in 2017. It would make no sense for his suit to be just tights at this point.

I'm sure Sony is making most of the profit anyway, with Marvel only paying their actors. They get a little slice
of the pie, but not that much. It's just to keep Spider-Man in the MCU. I don't think the new suit will make them produce more toys than they normally do. I think the Spider-Man drone is really cool. Not sure how many kids even know about it... like I said man, this is a fresh take on Spider-Man so I'm in open arms welcoming it. No one will force you to watch this movie, too many "Yeah, but..." Y'all chill, the movie is to entertain you, nothing more or less.

I agree 100%, maybe at the end of the movie they'll wrap it up with him turning over his suit to Stark and staying true to the OG. Who knows, let's just wait and see.

I kind of agree, but you also have to consider the fact that Peter Parker's career beginnings consist of him worried about the possibility of his Aunt May having to sell shoelaces on the street to get by

Obviously that's an extreme (and maybe somewhat anachronistic) scenario, but to me, the idea of a talking hi-tech suit detracts from that relatability aspect of the character to a degree, where he's in his tiny room sewing up his **** for the zillionth time or he's asking MJ if she took care of his "butt hole".

The costume is not a concern to me so much so as my need for there to be a narrative juxtaposition of Peter Parker and MCU. Obviously we haven't seen the movie so it may just turn out dandy (and trailers indicate that they're aware of this need as well).

Spider-Man's initial  angle in the greater scope of the Marvel verse was "gawky kid thrust into the world of larger-than-life fantasy, a Hercules among men--but stll a gawky kid when the big boys come to play".

Superheroes were traditionally rich, handsome 30-somethings? Pete is nerdy and broke and 15

Superheroes usually show at least half their face (if not the whole thing)? Nah. Creepy big-eyed full mask

Fancy car and costume and mansion? Nah. Barely scrounge together enough for a motorcycle. Can't go out as Spider-Man because there's sewing work to be done on the suit. Tiny house in Queens he can barely afford. Main breadwinner is dead. Circumstances usually turn out so that proper assistance is not as often as liked.

**** like that makes the Lee/Ditko/Romita run the GOAT to me

His entire character map (again, in the beginning stages of his career) is

1. Nerd

2. Spider bite

3. Powers, exhilaration

4. Money, douchebaggery, fame

5. Dead uncle

5. Help others. No money. Da Struggle day in and day out.

6. Can never get **** together--to busy being a moral paragon and an inimitable hero

7. People hate him because of illicit manipulation by conservative media mogul. Often at some kind of strange odds with other heroes but stll works together for the common good (see initial encounter with F4, "friendly" rivalry with Human Torch, initial encounter with Daredevil, etc.)

8. Heartwarming essay on morality, perseverance, and the common altruism to be found between superheroes of all stripes. The MCU makes this last part hella possible

Let's wait till the movie comes out. Costume wise, personally I'm hoping for some kind of balance by the end. We already know he loses it for a spell

'Spider-Man' Spinoff: Silver Sable, Black Cat Movie Finds Director with 'Secret Life of Bees' Filmmaker

'Silver and Black' has an October 2018 release date.

Gina Prince-Bythewood, who wrote and directed The Secret Life of Bees, will direct Silver and Black, Sony's Spider-Man offshoot that centers on characters Silver Sable and the Black Cat.

Matt Tolmach and Amy Pascal are producing the project, which has an October 2018 release date and is planning for a fall start.

Chris Yost, who worked on the upcoming Marvel movie Thor: Ragnarok, is writing the most recent draft. Lisa Joy, the co-creator of HBO's Westworld, also worked on the script.

Silver Sable, created by Tom DeFalco and Ron Frenz in 1985, is a mercenary who runs a company that hunts war criminals. The character has been both antagonist and ally to Spider-Man.

Black Cat, an acrobatic cat burglar whose real name is Felicia Hardy, has a long and tangled romantic history with Spider-Man in the comics. The character was cut from scripts for the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy, and a "Felicia Hardy" (played by Felicity Jones) briefly appeared in Amazing Spider-Man 2, though no Black Cat connection was ever made explicit.

Sony is rebooting Spider-Man this summer with Spider-Man: Homecoming and hopes to launch a slate of Spider-Man-related movies. The first project, Venom, is already off and running, having snagged Tom Hardy as star and Ruben Fleischer as director. While Spider-Man is firmly in Marvel's cinematic universe, Sony's offshoots will stand apart.

Prince-Bythewood won acclaim and awards with her feature debut, the 2000 drama Love and Basketball. The writer-director has had her feet mostly planted in the drama world and on top of helming Secret Life of Bees also directed the romantic drama Beyond the Lights, which starred Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Nate Parker.

She co-created the crime drama Shots Fired, which is currently airing on Fox, and is due to direct the pilot for Cloak & Dagger, Freeform's television series based on the Marvel Comics teen heroes.
