Finally back in the gym after a year hiatus.  Long story short I sprained my ankle pretty bad last year and couldn't get back into the habit of going to the gym.  I had braces put on last Friday so I'm limited to soft/liquid foods.  Anyways I need to drop some weight I'm at 185 right now 5'6".

^^^ I concider myself dedicated i just would like to know what excerises i can do to get results.... I wanna work smarter not harder.....

Your belly fat will probably be the last thing to go. So the best tip is to continue dropping the pounds.

Just started working out again so im trying to increase my strength and lose a little weight. I browsed the thread and wanted to ask what people thought of starting a cycle of Animal Stak and Cut? Also does Muscle Milk work at all? Thanks

Whens the best time to drink your protein shake? I usually try to take it a lil after my workout but I'm always eating a huge meal after the gym

I've been surfing the net for post workout shakes and everyone seems to have a differing opinion. I am mixing dextrose with whey protein, but I don't know what's a good amount of each. I just started at 30g of each mixed into water. I'm trying to lose weight while maintaining muscle. Any suggestions, thanks.

What do you guys prefer for sandwiches? Chicken or Turkey? They're pretty much hand in hand when it comes to nutrition right?

Sources?

I'm not sure if he's being serious?
Wouldn't like 60g of a complex carb be good 60-90mins before a workout? Or is that too much/too little?
It definitely varies depending on your bodyweight.  I typically get 40g of dextrose and 15 g of whey 90 minutes pre-workout and 5g of BCAA's 15 minutes pre-workout.
Dextrose is a high-GI carb that's intended to create an insulin spike.  It works very well for me.

So post workout, theres no point in taking a protein shake if you are going to eat a protein filled meal not too long after you work out? Finished my workout about 8pm since I went to the gym later than usual and im trying not to eat after a certain time (8pm). Only ate once before so I was starving. Havent taken my protein, just had some chicken.
Whats the general rule of thumb with this?

Make sure you're focusing on your diet. What are your goals aside from losing body fat?

10 Piece, don't worry. You're fine as long as you eat something after you workout. Don't worry if it isn't a shake.

^
Maybe im just itching to try the ON whey I got.

Also bought a bottle of ON amino acids. Before and after a workout only? Im thinking its a bit much to have after every meal as well. Im sure this supplement isnt as necessary as whey protein, but for $10 I figured why not. Are amino acids worth it?

Why aren't you eating past a certain time?  Broscience?
Meet your caloric goals for the day no matter timing man.

I've been checking out some of the Bodybuilding.com Transformations of the Weeks and the diets the people used to cut

What they were eating was VERY low in fat, low-moderate in carbs and high in protein.

And when I calculated the caloric intake for their diets, it was more than the -500 calories a day from maintenence.

Eh ive heard the debate about calories. 2000 calories is 2000 calories no matter when you take it, blah blah. Im doing purely cause its been working for a few of my friends, granted they may have just cut their calorie intake, but half of it is mental.
If anything I just eat what I normally eat, just less. And avoiding fast food.

EC Stack
Hello I just wanted to get some info on the EC Stack from someone who has tried it. What do you use exactly? How effective was it? Any info would be great. I looked at hotfit.com but its kind of confusing.
