STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

Just recently started doing Yoga and Pilates and I gotta say it has done wonders. Anybody who is looking for a six-pack should look into it.

I do reformer classes for pilates and core power yoga. Bunch of wealthy hot moms in the class with me too.

Honestly, though. I've said this before. The body adapts. Even to lack of sleep. Word to hard working people who've been pulling double shifts for years and still have the time to work out.

As long as you hit REM you should be fine.

I take cold showers an hour or 2 before bed and don't use my computer/phone an hour or longer prior. The blue light disrupts your Circadian rhythm.

Nah. Not now. I wrapped it up for the season but I was working 120 hours a week all summer. I'm just helping my friend work on his farm now and that's like every other day. Taking it easy this winter/fall.

So for the next few months wait 4-5 hours after a workout to eat and let us know how that works out for you fam. :lol

eh to be fair I usually finishing lifting @ 7am, drink serving of aminos (Core ABC or Xtend) around noon and eat around 6ish. I've never been in better shape, both from an aesthetic and strength perspective. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My business partner is a beef farmer. I help him with that in my free time. It's nice to work in the country all day and live in the city. Yesterday we took a bull to Hardee's. :rollin through the drive through and made the girl pet him.

Pullups are all muscle memory. Just warmup with them before every workout and youll slowly get there

Bruhs at 5'9" 215lbs im ending my bulk. Feel all kinds of stong and still pretty lean. I can do about 25 dips non stop and keep going after resting but i cant do a pull up to save my life [emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji].

You guys just do em everyday and get your numbers up?
What helped me a lot man is assisted pull ups. Especially with some bands. My one trainer had me do 3 sets of 20 with a band. I did that twice per workout sesh. Now on a good day I can 18 un assisted. Still working my way up

Did you not do any lat or pullup work on your bulk?

I just do pull-up for Lat and bicep work on the assist machine. Take 30 pounds off my body weight so I can do good form and lots of reps.

Try an assist machine and work up from there.

Pull ups are hard though. Most I ever did in a row w/no assist is 14.

Sleep is def a vital part in recovery, I feel like garbage if I get less than 7. When I worked my old job, I woke up at 4:45 every morning to be there by 6. Sometimes I wouldn't go to sleep until midnight and it showed during work. Good thing my job required me to always stay active if not I would have fallen asleep.

I have a six pack, but I have some stubborn belly fat that covers it up.

So I definitely wasn't focusing as much on diet as I needed to. Figured I'd post some things that've helped me recently with pre-cooking.

these cases were like $55 shipped bu they really have come in handy.

I definitely recommend going 3-5 small meals throughout the day to boost you metabolism. I'd been working out for months and wasn't seeing results until recently using myfitnesspal (sparingly) and just per-cooking all week. Here's a few meals I've been making. Definitely be careful with the portions, the first week I went too small and lost a little water weight and muscle and was sick... if anyone's interested in recipes let me know. peace
Sorry for the semi grave dig...

What's that grill/skillet?

Theres a app called twilight. Get that changes your phone background to the infa red so those phone lights dont mess with your sleep

i don't know the specific science, but certain types of lighting mess with your brain that makes it hard to fall asleep

Yeah, though I fall asleep with the tv on often but I find myself turning away from the TV and just too lazy to turn it off. But the light is telling your body you arent ready to sleep just yet.

It's seeing blue light before you sleep that affects you. If I remember correctly, the wavelengths of blue light (electronics and such) mess with the production of melatonin, a hormone that helps regulate the body's sleep/wake cycle.

I think there's been a bunch of studies on it especially with the ubiquity of electronics in this day and age. Just Google "blue light and sleep". Pretty interesting stuff IMO.

This and red light doesn't mess with you at all. The app itself has the actual research behind it too to read.

It helps. I wake up in the middle of the night a lot. And i check the phone.
With this app i notice i can fall right back to sleep after checking it.
Before the app i stayed up a little.

The blue light is something like 10x more illuminating than the moon. And that keeps you up

The body can adapt to some amazing things. It can adapt to function on less sleep but it doesn't completely adapt to function physiologically with inadequate sleep.

People please take most of the things you read on the Internet with a grain of salt. Many do not understand the biochemical processes and physiology of the human body as well as they think. There's a reason that Pharmacist, MD's, PhD's have to go through so much schooling and research to be considered experts in their field.
