STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

Are you gaining strength for a specific sport or function or are you just talking about training for general strength?

While I'm not looking to be a powerlifter or anything, but I kinda find not hitting bodyweight or knowing your max at 30 to fall in in the realm of slackin' on one's mackin'. To answer your question I'd say general strength at this point.

I want to do StrongLifts but when i put my real numbers in the app it puts out meh 12 week results and starts me super low on week 1.

I either dont know my real max (highly likely) or i need to just lie about my numbers.

Anyone else have this issue?

If you know your 1RM for all 5 lifts, use no more than 60% of that to start. I usually use 50.

Yes, the app and calculators do this because you are adding weight to the bar for every lift each time you do it. If your numbers are too high to start with, you will only burn out faster.

Standard progression has you add 60 lbs/month on SQ and DL, and 30 lbs/month to OHP and BP.

Man I had traps when I could only pull two plates. no idea how that happened.

I got big *** quads too.

Pic is from 2016. Lifting like 6 months lats no where to be found, living in a hell hole.. I was killing it.

:lol

I’m sure you could if you wanted to eventually.

I always said I just wanted 5, now I want 6. :lol there is one dude at my gym who is 175 and pulls 575 or so Trying to get on his level, his squat is stupid though. I’ll never catch him there.

Ordered some Blueberry Cobbler MRE bars. Interested to see how these are. Was torn between this flavor and the carrot cake one.
