Got a custom usapl competition shirt. Not sure if this is the one I’m gonna wear to compete since I’m leaning towards just wearing my a7 shirt but I’m still glad to have it.

left sleeve to rep NT. Logo was designed by servechilled81 servechilled81

right sleeve says TSG, which stands for “The Strength Guys” who are the people that are programming me for this meet

"Let アキラ be born again from the gym as you were. Bless him with size, bless him with sweat, bless him with strength. What is deadlifted may never die, but rises again, harder and stronger."

6 Days out. Last workout with heavier weights until the meet this Sunday. Just went and did my openers for squat and bench. Resting big for deadlifts.

Squat opener and projected: 155 kgs (341 lbs) - 165 kgs (363 lbs) - 170 kgs (374 lbs)
Bench opener and projected: 100 kgs (220 lbs) - 105 kgs (231 lbs) - 110 kgs (242 lbs)
Deadlift opener and projected: 217.5 kgs (479 lbs) - 227.5 kgs (501 lbs) - 232.5 kgs (512 lbs)

Been rocking Camber tees during workouts.

The max heavy weight tees, joints are 8 oz. Need to cop some more, maybe even a 12 oz hoody

For those of you who compete, how do you find these meets? Is there a league or is it through some local gym?

Considering trying something next year for fun but not sure where to start. Appreciate it.

Are there any body parts you guys dont work on much or care to highlight when it comes to your physique?

Me personally, I don’t really work on my traps like that. And I think huge lats look weird although I do hit those often

There’s different powerlifting federations each with their own rules and you need to sign up for a membership. The most popular federations are USAPL and USPA.

I believe the USAPL is the most popular between the 2 and they are drug tested unlike the USPA.

you can find upcoming meets by state here

This meet and the last meet I did were more local. The fed is called NorCal Powerlifting. USAPL and USPA are more serious and competitive but usually don't have a minimum to compete in open competitions but if you do well enough you may be invited to other meets.

Admittedly I got into powerlifting kind of late (late 20's) but it's a great time and it's pretty cool having a way to show your friends and family what you're about.

Care to share the program you are following?

I get custom programmed by the strength guys so it’s specific to my needs.

but there are tons of great free powerlifting programs out there ex. Candito 6 week

also a bunch of NTers have made and shared programs that I’m sure they’re willing to give out
