STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

What snacks are you guys eating? Particularly the working professionals.

Some days I get really hungry and cave in at the vending machine. Our machine is a "healthier" one, ie nothing really above 300 cals but it is the feeling of mental defeat that gets me more than anything.

almonds.... staff meetings sometimes "provide" snacks, I also go for ones with the lowest amount of sodium. But yea, I snack on almonds, raw carrots/celery etc. Bought some jerky but man it's chilling in my fridge.

Try not to be so shallow, the man has dropped weight, that's a feat on itself, positive reinforcement is better than passing judgement because he isn't getting cut up, is not as easy to gain muscle definition for some guys....specially ones that just dropped weight.

exactly... now I come off as being shallow... I don't think it's fair honestly. He's the one who was working out but my thing is if you gonna do something, DO IT FOR REAL. Don't half ***. I never once told him he needs to work out etc.

Dump em. Problem solved. You don't even sound like you attracted to em anymore.

wow.

Damn, imagine the names you'd get called if you did though. I applaud you riding it out and tossing that grass is greener **** to the side. If ya'll in it to win it (which it sounds like), ya'll should have no holds barred as far as communication.

I kind of want to try some of that Sweet Baby Rays Beef Jerky but Jerky just looks gross to me.

Woah didn't know that existed. For my caribbean folks that eat corned beef, I just noticed one of those cans are loaded with protein. Not a bad dinner option.

Which ethnic foods do you think are the most suitable for a "staying in shape" diet? Lately, I been kinda leaning towards Mexican/Tex.... long as stay away from the extras and flour tortillas is nothing but protein for the most part :lol Also, it's not heavily based on sauces... like you can get a taco and I mean a little bit of salsa is the only thing added.

However, I would like to know for going out on the town purposes, and just for some of ya'lls general opinions.

We just got a Qdoba and I went 3x this week and still lost weight, first time got the double meat burrito on whole wheat with black beans, brown rice, grilled vegetables, and pico and the 2nd 2 times got the Mexican Gumbo with double meat also and even queso. Could have saved a few hundred calories each visit by just going for the bowl and foregoing the flour product altogether.

And yall should buy this and make your own jerky. It's hella easy and people at work at one point were even bringing me meat and paying me to jerky it. You can do fruit leathers and other things too but I never messed with that. Bacon jerky is really good too but you have to trim as much visible fat off as you can

Those Quest bars are expensive. I bought a box a couple of years looks the price has went up a few dollars per box since then.

Hear that, Sneakerfan.

What you switch to?
I don't do too many bars anymore. Maybe an occasional Nature Valley, but beyond that nuts with some raisins, string cheese, fruit, or greek yogurt for snacks. If ima have that much sugar, I'd rather have a Snickers or some other treat. Clif is phantom healthy food.

Clif bars have their purpose imo.  I would never eat em for a snack but for pre workout or before an intense activity or pre/intra competition they would be useful

been eating bags of crave jerky and some of the newer oh yeah victory bars (decent macros) for snacks and also ate a big box of pumpkin pie poptarts (6 packs) in 2 days :{

First time going to GNC yesterday after I heard they sold quest bars there. Was happy to find they had a buy one get one free mix and match any kind. The cookie dough flavor was good the chocolate pb not so much. The amount of fiber was crazy good for one bar. Was surprised with all the flavors of supreme protein bars they had in the store too.

how much do they charge for a bar? if they got that deal id go buy some to try some flavors. Cookie dough is amazing. the others i tried, not so much. still eat em but they dont have that sweet flavor.

If anyone wants to save $10 off $30 or more at Vitacost then PM me :)

please :lol
