STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

You hit 405 raw or with straps?

My grip was slipping today on 335... i need to invest in straps.... i know i can do more weight.

I used straps because I was in unknown territory lol I probably could hit it raw but not as many reps, my hands get sweaty for some reason

You gotta compete or your aiming to compete.
I dont even consider myself a bodybuilder at this point. I just work out.

I understand what your saying, but I don't thing anyone in here is calling themselves a bodybuilder, at most we say we are bodybuilding which in my definition of the word is factual.

looks like i'll be making my purchase of straps right NOW!

unless you're trying to compete in powerlifting or just want to mentally think your important and better than people I dont see the issue with straps, what ever works but I only use straps when my grip starts to go out, I will saw dont be dependent on them just use them as an aid.

Lost 5 lbs these last 2 weeks.....I really need to start lifting again, all I've been doing is been playing basketball and soccer :lol

lowkey love you guys. hilarious. i just sit back and watch the fire lol

I'm not a 'body builder'..but I do build my body... so am I a body builder? lol
Bodybuilding is one of those weird things. I see bodybuilding as a sport, but I guess I can see why some people say they're bodybuilding cause you're "building" your body.
I guess my gripe is with people that call themselves bodybuilders and never hit a rear lat spread in their life.

How would I kill progress if I'm still applying progressive overload to my routines?

Progressive overload is key whether I change routine every 2 months, or not.
Fine - you may very well not kill your progress.

I guess I just don't see the purpose for switching routines.

Most routines recommend starting off light and going through an adjustment period. If you're switching programs often, I feel like you'd waste a bunch of time adjusting.
Basically, I don't see any reason to switch between programs every couple of months. I'd say you should find a program that works and stick with it. Ultimately, it's up to you; I just think you're avoiding the most efficient route towards accomplishing your goals.

Past few pages have been hilarious. There's a lot of insecurity and sensitivity that needs to be conquered.

Fitness doesn't need to be a vanity contest. Unfortunately, certain channels such as Instagram, Youtube, and social networking have given people a false sense that there's a demand out there for a consistent stream of self-centered content. I respect people who actually try and share knowledge and discuss fitness-related topics through these channels; however, there's way too many people who have tried to champion these channels as a means to conquer their insecurities.

I wouldn't be starting off light though...

Since I'm not taking a week off from the gym, my body doesn't need any time to adjust to working weight.

The deload after 7 weeks seems to be advantageous to let my body rest. It'll allow some of my snap action to subside a bit as well. What I mean by deload is lighter weight/volume, but I will still be in the gym.

im happy for you lucky

dead srs. i remember that pic with the overstuff loafers years ago everybody roasted you on

dedication

Thanks was in HM and nothing fits because of my shoulders and quads smh I like that aesthetic tight shirt douche look though. Sheesh is there a clothing company that caters to Non Betas? 6 ft + over 200 master race gets no love

I guess everything you worked hard for you should shove/brag in everyone's face every chance you get? Humble yourself former fat boy you worked on the outside try fixing what's inside, seems like that may be a harder task for you.

oh and to answer your question you prolly gonna need tailor made shirts if you want something to fit you slim all through out.....you should know that, you go into the DB thread quite often...lol

btw i think what people are getting at broski is that your attitude took a change since your physical improved, people on this board knew you when you were overweight bro, you treated people different and i guess thats why you starting to get some backlash....i think everyone in here is proud of what youve accomplished and to some you must be inspiration that it can be done, but dont let the outside change the inside....be proud of yourself, dont laugh at others because maybe you were laughed at in the past.

keep it up tho....you looking good....whats your IG btw?

Man, there's a weird phenomenon I've noticed. All the dudes I've talked to at the gym have all been the nicest, most down-to-earth, humble people I've met. Yet, the internet "bodybuilders" take on this I'm-alpha-you're-beta persona that's a complete 180 from the guys at the gym. I don't get it.

lol bro I been the same douche since I joined the site 10 years ago, I've never laughed at anyone or downed anyone, lol read the post I`m the one who always gets shots sent at and you have dudes that are so Beta they wont even direct comments at someone directly they try to subliminally throw shots, I`m just like what kinda men are you If you got a problem Come At Me or sit the hell down and scroll past my post. the fact of the matter is dudes in this thread dont like hearing stuff that isn't bro science or what they feel is "the way to do something" ANY opposition is criticized even if you say "from my experience" dudes will say "you are wrong" heck just a few days ago someone I forget who it was said I wasnt gonna hit 4 plates on deadlift before thanksgiving and I hit 4 plates tonight. Fact is there is just a ton of new NTers who are just a "different breed" point blank, I mean look at the DB thread and how out of nowhere dudes start arguing.

and my IG is CashmereEsquire.
