The 2015 NBA Draft Thread: Draft Day Is Here

It could just come down to dedication and drive. Oubre was foolin around when he got to Kansas but he picked it up to end the year

Seems like Oubre is very driven and motivated.. I don't know about Lamb. He seems just content
Seems like Oubre wants the glitz and the glam, but we'll see how much he cares about being a good basketball.

Also sounds like there were concerns regarding his understanding of the game, which I totally could see just by watching him play last year.

I don't think Lamb is the best comparison for Oubre.

Lamb's offensive game was more developed and he was a better shooter.

Oubre is way more of an athlete and better defender, you just gotta hope he can develop into a corner 3/slash/1 move type guy on offense.

I also think he has more dog in him than Lamb, dude just stopped trying in OKC.

Man...if New York can get a first for Tim Hardaway Jr.,

Presti should have been able to trade Dion Waiters for something yesterday...

EXACTLY what I was thinking.

I don't understand what they see in Waiters, make more room for Morrow/Payne minutes.

Based on what exactly? His shoes, outfit last night, hair? :lol

His understanding of the game will come along, but from everything I've been reading, he seems to be a good kid (a bit arrogant) who works hard.

Knicks fans are too distraught. The entire city is on holiday so we can recover from last night's events.

Neither do I.

Dude is horrible by all statistical measures. People tried to say it was Cleveland that made him look so bad, but when he got to OKC, he was worse.

It actually causes me physical pain to see this dude in a Thunder jersey.

Bruh has got. to. go!

Yeah I don't think Bill Self or the people at Kansas would agree with you.

I'm not going to write off Oubre for the season he had at KU or that he might be too confident in himself right now

Dude whole life changed in one summer went from a maybe top 75 to Top 15 HS . that's a lot to deal with and learn

Wiz is a good team for him

Oubre was a top 15 prospect coming out of high school but didn't immediately start for Kansas coach Bill Self. He handled the hard coaching and constructing criticism well, a must for a pro who has much to learn.

"Kelly handled it unbelievably. Just started working hard, started to listen and it ended up working out for him," Townsend said. "He’s a winner. He hates to lose. Great teammate. The guys here loved him.

"I recruited Bradley Beal for four years, recruited John Wall. I know those guys. He’s a high character guy. They’ll really like him. He never got into any trouble off the court at all. He really wants to be good. He’s great kid."

Oubre is the exact same player as Otto porter.

Wiz want a young 3 and D wing. Essentially an Ariza clone. They are hoping porter's emergence in the playoffs wasn't an aberration. If porter doesn't work out....they have Oubre whose younger and more athletic.

I like the pick.

Man I told that boy stay in school this foo left w/o even telling the coach...

He would have been drafted if he left UNLV on good terms, came into the combine in good shape, and wokred out hard for teams.

Instead he went 0/3 and went undrafted.

No one should have sympathy for him.

Carmelo Privately Expresses 'Displeasure' With Knicks' Draft Night Moves
JUN 26, 2015 12:06 PM

Carmelo Anthony reportedly called Tim Hardaway Jr. following the New York Knicks' draft night trade of him to the Atlanta Hawks.

The Knicks traded Hardaway to the Hawks for the draft rights to Jerian Grant.

The Knicks also drafted Kristaps Porzingis with the fourth overall pick.

Anthony reportedly expressed "displeasure" with the draft night moves made by Phil Jackson. Anthony feels like the Knicks needed to acquire players who could help immediately.

"He said, 'we have to wait three years for this guy?'"
