The Combat Jack Show Thread

My favorite era was the Guess/Tommy/Polo/Nautica era early 90's.

it sort of coincided with the black and urban wear popping up. I was in the Guess/Tommy/Polo lane.

That extra baggy late 90's and early 2000 era was always head scratching to me. It was even baggier than the Karl Kani and Cross Colours era.

I always wore my size

but back then I didn’t have the discipline to pass on things I wanted that wasn’t in my size and that would be the only time I bought bigger clothes

but the hilfiger/polo/nautica is my favorite too

They recorded the last episode last week with the entire crew, sans Combat.

The Cipher had a nice tribute episode based around his old interview with them.

The average guy wasn't dressing like this. They were emulating hustlers.

and when I look back it, stuff like stone washed jeans were wack as ****.

It was a cool era of sneakers, because you had more than one brand, so you had people wearing Nike, Adidas, Pumas, British Knights, Troops, Spot Bilts, Lottos, Ballys....

Clothing, not really besides jackets and sweatshirts.

i disagree
some of those same clothing brands and styles
are still being sold and bought NOW

Like what?

I'm talking about what the average person was wearing

The average person wasn't wearing Gucci and Louis

What's stood the test that the average person wore? Levis? Ralph?

And Ralph existed in the 60's and 70's, does that mean the 70's was a dope decade

how the hell they know what was popping in the 80's

I'm sitting here watching Different World and wondering how anyone could think it was a dope fashion decade

Trying to remember if Girbauds first run of popularity was late 80's or very early 90's.

I had a pair of shuttle jeans. My sister cut my straps.

Still looking for a similar wash with light grey straps to get tailored.

there were talks of girbaud making a comeback with the slim/skinny fit

hasn’t jumped off yet tho, there were pics and the whole nine
