The Combat Jack Show Thread

Yeah let me put Streets Discipline cd1 in the good catergory.

God Son had too much filler and I wanted to like Untitled but it was forgettable.

They had me on my flight in tears this episode. I usually save Saturday joints for Monday’s, but the Saturday joints been funnier than the Wednesday ones.

“Put the crack inside the apple!”

They was trying to stall Joe out when he kept mentioning durex, not acknowledging him. Then he caught on, and was like wait...

Yeah, I enjoyed today's pod more than Wednesday's. They seemed more in to it.

I feel sorry for Rory sometimes when he tries to get a joke off.

The Durex and Lifestyle talk. I swear free condoms were the worst.

I got through almost half of Saturday's episode, I had to shut it off.

Hearing how they skipped right over Aubrey on the LeBron show. I'm good, too commercial. They got too many ties and friendships. They not themselves.

They commented on The Shop, but they could only talk about the preview, because they whole thing wasn't out.

Saturday was the best one in a couple of weeks.

Hip hop historian :nthat: Joe was buggin with that. Showing his appreciation for Bron playing his song.

yo joe and them
hating on whatchamacallits :smh:
i bought one last week
king size from the gas station
still buy em regularly

I agree, I like whatchamicalits. I don't eat chocolate much though.

But Twix, KitKat's, Reese's and What's are the few I mess with.

Yeah they def didn’t see the whole interview. I’m definitely going to skip that part of the episode this week, not trying to hear Joe’s deep dive for 40 plus mins over a 15 min Drake interview. Twitter been gassing Joe all weekend because he had it right all along

Boys too woke out here.

Saturday's is recorded on Friday? I thought it was recorded on Saturday.

Well you missed one of the funniest recent podcasts they had

What was funny? I got through about half and barely laughed. Cyn wanting to do a song was funny. Other than that, I don't remember laughing.

I don't understand why you gotta collect vinyl to be a historian, that's wild

Even if they saw the whole Drake/Lebron thing we know all they would do is "Well Drake is right" then Joe would go on another Kanye rant. Joe ain't saying a bad word about Drake from here on out, we know that and it's whatever.

The episode is still real good. Funny as ****.

It's on Spotify at 8am when I'm getting ready for the gym.

The Parks vinyl talk was ignored by me. That's an age and nerd thing.

Most people grew up on CD's or cassettes. The only ones who did vinyl were DJ's and producers. My man used to buy vinyl and I noticed it was cheaper than cassettes and CD's, but they didn't contain as many songs as cassettes and they weren't portable. People really in to jazz tend to do vinyl on some snob nostalgia stuff.

I think it's funny debating whether LeBron is or not. I don't follow LeBron like that but I was shocked to see him listening to damn near every rap album and even talk about older ones. Maybe if he sat down and went into depth about his love and showed some knowledge, it would shed some light but from what I've seen. We don't have enough to say he is or isn't.

It's also funny that they been bleeping out the songs on YouTube, you would think they would want those clips played cause they only 20-40 seconds and I'm sure it makes people want to go stream or buy the songs.

and they always gotta show off their collection
and the record player
like bruh
nobody cares

People also buy vinyl because of the sound quality and the ability to just throw on an album in the house. Everybody ain't rockin with those Bluetooth device things

bron def not a damn hip hop historian

a historian typically dedicates their life and time to whatever they’re a historian in

let’s be serious here

also I’m sure he gets paid for certain songs he plays on his socials

Because record labels are stupid. You're getting a million people listening to the pod and a good portion will go listen because of hearing it on the pod. It's nothing negative about it.

Oh and the funniest part was the ad. Joe reading I’m from Harlem but hustle recognize hustle in Brooklyn......

Yeah I was crying over that

Yeah, that caught me off guard. Who wrote that for him?

He was born in Harlem, but lived in Queens until he was a young teen.
