The GOAT: "I would not have called Larry and Magic and say let’s play together"

/\ With the rumblings that this trio was planned long ago...how true is it that Lebron tried to get Bosh to Cleveland? If anything I think it was Cleveland FO trying to bring Bosh in. I don't think for a second Lebron asked Bosh to come to Cleveland.

He was trying to have his cake and eat it too.  Stay home so nobody vilifies him, but still bring in upper tier talent to play with.

LeBron will be the best player on that team, so the idea he's just gona coast to titles and sit back and watch Wade/Bosh do the heavy lifting is false, but going to another players city does make it feel/look like he is just hopping on for the ride.

WHAT RIDE? They are first round dropouts last season and haven't been CLOSE to winning jack *!%@ for FOUR DAMN SEASONS. If that's coming for a "ride", then that ride is a mediocre middle priced car. He isn't coming for a ride in a mediocre car, him and Bosh are coming to add another 200-300 Bhp to a 200 Bhp engine.

Seriously though, this is stupid. If the Suns ended up winning the championship in 92-93 when Barkley came, I guess it would've looked like Charles Barkley came for to ride Kevin Johnson to a championship, huh?

The same goes for Shaq and him piggybacking Eddie Jones or Nick Van Exel had the Lakers won in 96-97. Or better yet, how about the actual case of Kevin Garnett piggybacking Paul Pierce to a ring in 08. Another stupid argument that has no basis in reality and common sense, stretched as wide as possible with the sole purpose to make LeBron look bad.

Funny, given that the couple days before the signings Bron was begging Bosh to agree to a sign and trade with the Cavs, and Toronto had already said AV, Parker, West, and Hickson plus picks was enough for them to do the deal.

But Bosh said no.........

So what did Bron do then?

You say a couple of days, yet how did Stephen A. Smith know what would happen weeks before it did, and put his rep on the line by saying what would happen? Lucky guess? It is known that these three players had a dinner where they discussed their futures. Noone knows whether only one possibility of what team the three were going to sign for or whether there were multiple possibilities with Plans A, B and C discussed among them.

All I know is that it's very hard for you to argue that LeBron coming to Miami was off impulse when those three players had a dinner discussing their futures earlier and in the end those three players ended on the same team. Mystical coincidence I guess.

nah it was a public relations attempt to show that no star free agent would ever sign in CLE, thus giving him a "reason" to leave

if you think he would have gotten killed and destroyed to this level if he signed with NYC or CHI you lying to yourself. the criticism would be nowhere near the same degree. MJ said he should go to CHI and Magic said he saw him going to NYC. there would be no super team in either city. no collusion with other stars. no ring chaser comments.

Why are so much Laker fans ganging up on the lonely heat fans and Lebron James??

You guys just won two finals in a row. But u guys sound angry.

Within the last 4 yrs u guys managed to sign Gasol, and Artest.. Retain Kobe, resign Derrick Fisher and have Odom and Bynum at your disposal. And talk the best coach in the NBA to come back one more year. And play in the last three championship games while winning two.

Like what lil Wayne said let's just sit back and watch a NBA finals that should go down as one of the most watched and epic finals of all time between the heat and lakers.

LOCK this up!

What in the @#$% does it matter who I root for?  So I'm a Laker fan, I can't talk about something basketball related?

I'm no longer allowed to voice an opinion or participate in a discussion ON A MESSAGE BOARD about a pretty significant event that has taken place?

Becuase I am a Laker fan?????

Quit damn crying about it, point is if Bron went to any team in the league, I would still be in here discussing it, if he didn't go to the Heat, you would be no where to be found.  So go cry somewhere else.

CP1708,

I think u completely missed what I was saying. And what exactly am I crying about?? The lakers are a complete class act organization from the level of players they sign to there management of there staff.

U guys just won back to back championships but yet it comes across as if the third championship in a row might be in jeopardy cause of the signing of Bosh, Wade, and James to the Heat.

I'm a Yankee fan I'm not going to come across as bitter or jealous if the Red Sox sign Cliff Lee, Strasburgh, and Uraldo Jiminez (s/p). Were the Yankees we can comeback and sign some top notch players ourselves. Yankees=Lakers, Heat=Red Sox.

You can continue and argue and debate back and forth but this banter isn't going anywhere.

Understand??

LeBron has had it easy his whole life. Everything handed to him. He doesn't work hard on his game most of it is natural ability.
What champion caliber player has long choreographed dance routines during player announcements? They worked on those routines

during practice! What champion caliber player, when facing a elimination game, stand at half court and shoot underhanded shots the whole

time? LeBron doesn't want to work hard or take it seriously, he wants it easy for him. That's why he liked the Dream Team so much.

Everyone is going to call you a hater and ask if you are Mad for typing that. But any person who looks at things from a clear mind knows what you just posted in the truth. I really don't care if him and the heat win 10 championships or not and I'm not even mad at him for going down to Miami easy stuff is great. But I will have a problem if once they win championships peolple start to put him in the same conversation as MJ, Magic, Bird etc.
