I was reading an article on Sportsline that said the White Sox are in BIG trouble even after unloading a lot of their big contracts this off-season...what's your take Stringer?

imo, the division is up for grabs, if you're going solely based on off season moves the Tribe are probably the favored to win it

The White Sox could win the division or finish 4th

I like what the Royals and Tigers have done thus far

Cubs traded Rich Hill to Baltimore. Man, the trade happy Cubs are getting rid of all the players who never lived up to early potential.........Pie, Cedeno, andnow Hill.

and Paul Bako ???!?!?!?? I hate that loser.

Him and Abreu are both gonna have to settle for one-year deals and try the market again next year... The market played out HORRIBLY for those types of guysthis offseason...

I mean, you look around, and where is Adam Dunn even a good fit? Has he been seriously tied to any teams yet this offseason? I've seen him mentioned asPlan B or C for some teams, but seems like he's nobody's Plan A...

yeah, it just amazes me that he'd be someone's second or third option....i mean, look at the rest of the OF's available...who the hell issomeone's plan A over Dunn, you know what i'm sayin?

i believe he has an offer from the Nats.

God damn, why don't we just !*%!%$@ buy the O's and make them a farm system?

Why do you trade young left handed arms for player to be named? Jesus.
smh.gif

Now we just traded Wuertz to the A's for two minor leaguers.

Are we rebuilding or what the F?
sick.gif

What the hell are we doing trading all this pitching away?

Two minor leaguers are OF Rich Robnett and infielder Justin Sellers.

Jesus.

You're concerned about an out-of-options 29 year old pitcher that was awful at every level he pitched at last season?

Rich Hill had negative value at this point because he's got to be on the big league squad on Opening Day or you risk losing him... You're not gonna getmuch trade value for that, and I can't imagine he had a real shot at making the Cubs roster outta ST...

damn rich hill trade made me angry he still has a shot to be a good pitcher dude got one of the sickest curves i ever seen...too bad thats his only pitchthough.

Is Wuertz any good? Numbers were okay but I don't know much about him. I mean I'm not expecting much for two minor leaguers but still

.

Mets sign Oliver Perez... 3 year, $36 M...

That'll eliminate another potential Sheets suitor...
laugh.gif

Supposedly the Rangers and Sheets are close on monetary terms, but Sheets wants a second year guaranteed and the Rangers are only offering one year guaranteedwith a team option for a second... Seems like a good plan for the Rangers for the time being... Protect yourself against that investment considering the guyhas literally no market for himself whatsoever... If another team gets involved, I've gotta think they'll crack and guarantee that second season...

Amen to 3 years.

Mets should still go after Sheets for a 1 yr why not?

..and I agree to Rich Hill having negative value he really underperformed last season.

I had Rich Hill down as a possible 15 game winner like two seasons ago.....what a disappointment. I hope for the Cubs sake that some of these minor leaguersare descent ball players.

Billy needs to jump in an snag Sheets for two years.
smh.gif
Man, I really feel if we can get him, we would really contend for the division this year. But ownershipwon't do it...
smh.gif

There are rumors that the White Sox made a one year 8 million offer to Bobby Abreu but that makes no sense unless they can move Dye

I dunno

Mets should still offer Sheets a 1 yr deal... I don't understand the White Sox going after Abreu when they have outfielders... What a strange offseason...
