Ufc don’t need to depend on stars as much

Can’t front and say there’s not a difference when you’ve gotta Ronda Rousey or Conor Mcagregor and when you don’t. I get it. They went back to a brand first approach. But you look at the Messi effect in Miami or big PPVs in boxing, it all depends on stars.
I love MMA so I’m not the common bloke. It’ll be interesting to see if PFL buys Bellator AND that antitrust case.

It wouldn't turn into boxing though. The lawsuit has nothing in it about having the Ali Act implemented. The plaintiffs want less restrictive contracts where fighters would be able totest free agency like other sports in shorter time spans.Yeah…but if that turns MMA into Boxing (eg independent contractors, open market with sanctioning bodies) then how does PFL benefit?
PFL benefited from the model the UFC created. PFL just happens to be a small player because WSOF was a second tier MMA promotion competing with Bellator prior to the Viacom purchase. Things have improved for them with ESPN coverage and some buzz here or there. But maybe the first shoe dropping is buying Bellator then trying to make a run at improving their name brand and their major stars.
They resigned Clarissa Shields. They have Kayla. If they get Cyborg they can make the biggest women’s fight outside of UFC.

I don't think he's the head matchmaker. Dan Hardy is the head of ops for their EU division. I know his wife has ties with MMA Factory and Fernand. So I'm pretty sure they use him and his promotion to farm talent for the PFL similar to SBG for Bellators EU and Dublin cards.steevoo1 so I've been reading up on the connections between Lopez and the PFL, as well as Ali possibly blocking the UFC from signing Lazy King
Apparently Lopez is the matchmaker for PFL in Europe? Did any of us ever mention this, I don't recall. I read that Dan Hardy and Lopez are the main matchmakers for PFL Europe
Does Lazy King train with Lopez or managed by him?
