I can't wait to see this fight. Rugged Man called out Mayweather on a radio interview and he made Mayweather look like an idiot. Both fighters are reallygood though.

true, but i see it as vegas has more to lose than dallas if it came down to it.
all hotels are going to be 99.9% occupated. out of that %, even the more "normal" person drops a couple dollars on the tables/machines.
now when you get celebs, we've all heard stories on how much guap they drop at the tables. im sure theres others that we havent heard of who drop evenmore.
clubs will probably all have a 4 bottle minimum for bottle service, and a $100 cover to get in for those who wait in line
but yea, thats a ton of cash that vegas would bring in

I would love for it to be in Vegas. Possibly the biggest fight in a very long time and Vegas would be ideal...but at the same time, Grand Garden Arena can onlyhold 15 thousand people and the average joe doesn't really stand a chance to get tickets unless you A) fork out a @@%! load of money for a ticket B) gambleyour life, child's life, and anyone elses life you know away so you can get comped or C) be extremely lucky to find tickets or get tickets for free/cheap

At least in Dallas 100k people can go and tickets would be a lot more affordable. But then again I'm looking for a reason to check out the new stadium. Iwanna watch the fight on that big @$+ screeeennnnnn!

They just need to hurry up and decide so I, along with thousands of others know where we will be on March 13.

Let's be realistic...It's gonna be in Vegas...way too much $$$ out there...i know imma be spending $$$ out there that weekend
Staples Center Makes $20M Bid To Host Pacquiao-Mayweather
Dec 09, 2009 10:31 PM EST

Staples Center has made a guaranteed $20-million offer to host the Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight that has been verbally agreed to be fought March 13.

"This is the biggest boxing event ever, and we're prepared to step up in a big way," said Dan Beckerman, AEG's chief financial officer. Beckerman said his pitch to Mayweather promoter Richard Schaefer and Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum is to "activate the entire L.A. Live campus" on fight week.

A large closed-circuit audience could watch the bout at Nokia Theatre and 20,000 would fill Staples Center, Beckerman said.

"We know there's interest in this fight across the world, but we're very interested and honored to make the most impressive offer possible," Beckerman said. "It's our biggest guarantee ever, and we hope it wins the day. We wanted to push as far and as hard as we could."

Jerry Jones...get it done.
Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, is out of the running to host the Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather super fight
Thank God

As much as I would love to see the fight here in LA, I know it's not going to happen due to the taxes alone.

I don't see the fight happening anywhere but Vegas.

if it were held in Dallas, sure tickets would be cheaper but are people seriously dropping money to see a fight in this massive stadium? Going there for theatmosphere I can understand but this isn't a football game, this a boxing fight. They'll be looking like ants in there. Even if the cheapest ticket was$10, I'd much rather watch it with friends on tv with greater detail rather than being relegated to watching in on the jumbotron.

Jerry Jones already has told them he will raise the price if needed, hes offering the most money ever for a fight.

My man...this is not no jumbotron. This is a straight up high def television.

With that said, The Wynn just hit me up with 3 nights in a suite for $250 total. This has to be in Vegas now. Screw that new stadium! Come on MGM!!!!

if you dont get your room now, the rates are gonna be

once its official
just book direct from the hotel/website and you can get a full refund if you cancel

it's gonna come down to Dallas vs Vegas-

Yes Vegas has ALOT to lose if it does not host this but its not Vegas as a collective that will have to put up the $- once everybody gets down there and thestadium is a max capacity the $$ gets spread out between all hotels, casinos, clubs etc - I mean obv Vegas WANTS it but as we see JJones is going hard-

At the end of the day the promoters see the $$- so i'm sure Jones number will be bigger, plus the audience will be bigger and it makes for a different typeof fight since the others are all basically in vegas-
i can see the punchlines now "The fight too big for Vegas" etc etc -

i see what your saying up there about the tix in dallas...but everything else will prob be cheaper in vegas from flights to rooms

also whats the city of dallas saying about this? like someone said this aint a football game...its gonna be 100k plus rowdy tourists in town

im still hoping for vegas- there will def be some side money cut for them to win out

Ive been lucky enough to make it to every fight since Morales and i CANT imagine the fight being anywhere else except vegas due to the accessibility. Hotels, transportation, nightlife, and that feeling of being in vegas during a fight weekend CANNOT be made up for in any state. Dallas is def. still in therunning with the new offer and being able to get a ticket will probably be a little bit easier. My problem with that is, sure youll be able to find a ticketbut your gonna end up making up for that in hotels, car rentals, food, and other things that dallas doesn't have that vegas does. Prices for tickets aregonna be a little high for this fight if in vegas but if your smart and you have the right plug on tickets it'll be just be like any other fight.

For example... For the Cotto fight tickets were going for more then the DLH fight but come an hour before the fight i was able to trade my lowers for ringsideplus 4 hundred. So i basically paid 11 hundred for ringside when a month before the fight the same tickets were on ebay/craigs for 10k a pair. According to mydude the average ticket is going to be between 500 and 1k dollars a ticket for PBF. With that being said your most likely going to pay 1500 for mids at themgm which isnt to bad considering the for the DLH fight i paid 1200 for a mid seat.

Our host at the mgm gave us a brief break down of how the tickets are distributed:
16k tickets total for the mgm
8k go to the hotels
3k go the promoters
2k go to both camps (not sure how they split those)
3k are left for the regular person to buy online or at the mgm

Ive always gone to the same scalper as hes a good friend of mine but from my experience if you cant find a face value ticket you should def. go see a scalper aday before the fight due to the fact as the fight gets closer and closer
tickets get cheaper and cheaper. An hour before the fight tickets are usually back down close to face value as they are virtually useless once the main eventhas started.

And for someone who hasn't been to a fight at the mgm. No matter how good of a seat you have unless your ringside your looking at the big screen. Lowersand mids are not close enough to see every aspect of the fight.

Personally i attend the fights for the that adrenalin rush of being inside the arena... from the Filipino national anthem to where he walks in to the actualfight you don't get that rush anywhere else except being in there live (yea the females are no joke on a fight weekend TOO!)

I hope its in vegas.......

A friend of a friend who works at MGM LV said the fight will be held there. All hearsay though.

I dont know why most of you dudes are arguing about the venue...cozme, you and the other X,XXX NTers will be watching it on a TV/big screen somewhere...It doesnt affect anything.
