just go reserves, man. you can switch to active duty in 2 years. it's not that bad, you get to enjoy live your daily life as civilian and be a marine at the same time

OCTOBER. 2012.

i'm already 27 years old. fml.

it gives me a chance to work out and be prepared physically for ocs...but what if, for whatever reason, i'm not selected? thats a years wait for nothing. trying to apply again would only take more time. just something to consider. i want it bad...

this $*$!#%+ economy has everything $!%#+% up. everything.

I feel your pain man. I'm in a similar situation (expect I'm only 23). The waiting/ not knowing game is killing me. I started talking to my recruiter in February and things have been at a stand still the whole time. He told in 90s when he joined people who were on academic probation in college and borderline criminals/thugs were becoming officers and now over qualified people can't get in...fml. I read about a dude who had to wait 3 full years before he went to OCS. Do they make expections based on when you began your recruitment process? (29 is the cut-off age right?)

Not gone lie...I hate it sometimes but I don't know where I would be if I didn't join the Air Force.

You'll only be an E-2 in the USMC. AF and Navy E-3, Army E-4 (Specialist)

I enlisted in the Marine Corps...got to week 10 of recruit training and got hurt. While doing physical therapy to get back into training, they perform a bunch of different tests to make sure you're fit to go back. BAM. Diagnosed with asthma. Insta-discharge...FML. So I'm going back to college to finish out my degree and I'm joining the police academy. They're a para-military force, so I guess it still fits here.
