On the topic thiugh, as kids when Mike was retiring we almost felt like "what's next??".

Shaq/Kobe, and especially AI was a big influence on keeping kids into the game then Vince Carter and Tmac. From Kobe's era to Lebron and Steph. I kinda disagree with "teaching" the audience because the NBA ain't teach us to love AI, we did that ourselves. If anything the media was doing the opposite. This is another reason why they want stars to play.

Luka has "It" but young boys over here can't REALLY connect with him cuz he ain't from here. Ja and Zion should be it but we'll see. Ant checks all the boxes so far. Tatum has been/is great but he don't have a superstar aura. He don't carry himself like a superstar. Even though he is #2 in jersey sales, Maxey sales more jerseys than Ja but he ain't as popular as Ja.
