He gonna sue the team for quitting on them

His main complaint gonna be they put me on the trade block and that caused mental anguish. Idk

1000% players want control of their futures. What’s going on now is ridiculous. New CBA will make sure this is implemented.

What organization holds their players hostage for this long? Philly fans loved him for 5 years, then a terrible playoff performance and now he has zero control of his future?

He doesn’t want to play there. Trade him. Sadly this is not a real job where he can just quit and become a FA. This has gone on for far too long and the GM is delusional. This is a major L for the Sixers doesn’t matter how you look at it.

Starting to feel like this season’s trade deadline is going to come and go pretty quietly.

I don't know. Considering that this summer's top tier free agents are pretty light, one would expect trade season to be active. If not Febuary, then for the summer.

He quit on the team, I don’t see how that translates into holding him hostage. They wanted him to play

He had 4 years left on his deal too

But I’m not a lawyer so maybe somehow he does have a case to sue them

He needs to lawyer up. The way Rich Paul and Morey are treating this, every single player in the league wouldve taken action.

Jerami Grant is the biggest prospect so it wouldn't be surprising if the deadline this year is quiet.

How is it holding him hostage? We want him to play. Is he not the one refusing? Lol

If we are going to trade him, we are looking to get the best for the team. If he wants the best for himself, he needs to play lol the longer he refuses, the less money he’s getting and there’s no way he’s getting it back. He’s still getting fined $360k every missed game

Bruh...Ben is making it so the players will have LESS control in the new CBA. He literally gave the Sixers control of his future when he signed a FIVE-YEAR extension in the summer of 2019. The only thing that is ridiculous is signing that extension and requesting a trade one year in. From his lack of improvement to putting his name on the dotted line, he has no one to blame but himself for the situation he is in.

Again...the Sixers are still one of the top teams of the East, have never been a major FA destination anyone, have one of the Top 5-10 players in the league under contract for 4-5 more years and will eventually get something for Benjamin. How is this a major L?

No he needs to do the bare minimum and cooperate. He does that and everything is fine. Had he acted like an adult and said from the jump his mental health is declining for “said” reasons, he’d still get his money and could’ve requested his trade behind the scenes

Not my area and I don't know what exactly his contract says, but my gut is that Ben would not have strong legal grounds for suing the team.

I would think that, if people thought the way the Sixers organization is handling the situation is that egregious, the Players Union would get actively involved on Benj's behalf.

Who gets to decide what’s best for the team? Because any trade package out there instantly makes the team better than not playing him, and makes the team instantly better than the first round exit roster you have out there right now.

In the history of the NBA name me a player that requested a trade, doesn’t play, and doesn’t get paid.

You don’t get paid based on how you’re supposed to
improve. You get paid based on what you’ve done. Sixers gave that contract to him, that’s on them.

NBA needs to implement PTO. Players get paid for rest days, paid for family leave, paid when they tear an ACL, paid for being a scrub and last guy on the bench.

But if you request a trade you’re not supposed to be paid? No logic here.

Are we really gonna act like that is all Ben did?

And you really think if mans had 10 days of PTO it would make a real difference? :lol

Lol yes. With his contract that’s a lot saved. What exactly did Ben do? Entire organization flipped on him. Fans flipped on him. He requested a trade.

Tried to come back. Said he’s not ready. Coach kicked him out. Another dumbass stubborn egotistical coach they have there.

Please tell me how Kyrie is getting paid when he was absent for 30+ games. What’s the difference here?

Nets basically gave Myrie PTO on a couple of occasions (not counting the covid stuff). It's moreso about HOW Ben handled it. He definitely has a lot of culpability for his predicament. We saw Harden a few seasons ago make it uncomfortable but still showed up to work and was granted his wish to be traded.

Ben Simmons is a immature child, like alot of young NBA players. Most vets (Harden) would not handle the situation like this. It’s too much money lost. Still I’m always for a player getting paid. What Ben did for that organization in his 5 years there, which is why he got that contract, is far greater than how they’re treating him now.

Trade him. The offers are there. It’s simple.

What did he do for the organization? Cause they’ve been accommodating him for years

What exactly did he do for the Sixers organization? He tried unsuccessfully to force his way out one of if not the worst manners in recent memory, while also seemingly not being aware of all the possible ramifications to him doing it in the manner he did. There are reports that he and Rich are fine with sitting out the entire season, so what's the going to bat so hard for a guy that seems fine with it.

Wait, are you being serious or is a joke going over my head?
